Are these worth their weight in gold?

I don’t stunt ride, or do any crazy hooligan riding, but I’ve had a bike fall over and be knocked over. Are these worth installing for extra protection?

Not sure if I would go as far to say they're worth their weight in gold but they would definitely save your fairings in a simple tip over or minor accident. They look like basically better version of frame sliders that are a topic of debate on these forums where some have claimed they cause more damage than they prevent as an impact on the regular frame sliders could cause the frame to be cracked resulting in the write off of the vehicle. Where a similar impact may only damage the fairings which can be replaced easily (albeit not overly cheaply).

I've got a set of sliders on my bike, had the kickstand flip back up after getting off of the bike as it apparently wasn't fully extended (or my boot caused it to kick back just enough). The sliders saved quite a bit of damaged and paid for themselves probably 10 times over so I'll be keeping mine around.

I'd say if you don't have anything, like the idea of the extra protection they offer, like the looks and the price then go for it!

I have heard that even the sliders with two mounting points can cause frame damage in a crash.

I have LSL sliders and I keep them because A) they were expensive, B) I like how they look and C) I think they will help avoid a lot of damage in a 0 mph tip over which is the kind of crash I feel is most likely to happen to my bike. I don't think they will help for a crash over 20 mph. Another owner showed the engine mount had cracked because of a low speed crash with LSL frame sliders.

if they just made em stick out at the leverage point...they'd be much better looking.Course, then yer back to regular sliders.Basically.But if you don't mind the largish size, they look like they'd really work well.

I don't think they are worth their weight in gold. The only thing related is the factory service manual. With the prices the dealers charge for repairs., the manual is defifinately worth it's weight in gold.
