Hid Install help....DDM Kit
08/01/09 5:36 PM

Hello All

I just install a set of Hid's on my bike followed the directions to the letter from DDM and got no results has anyone else had a similar experience and if so how did you fix the problem?

Any Help would be great.

Thanks

Snuffy-you need to make sure the hot leads are going to the hot side, and the grounds are going to ground side.If they're not coming on,one or more of the plugs is connected backwards. The small plugs-you can't get those wrong. But the bigger ones-especially that one that plugs to the lamp and stock wiring plug(where the ORIGINAL lamp plugs into)-that one I think can be put in backwards-and it won't light.Just don't change em with your bike key on, or running. You may get the surprise of your life!!!

Thanks Blue

I will give it another shot today...so the plugs that DDM comes with may have to be switched in order to make it run right? The kit has the type of plugs that seem like they have to be plugged one way and one way only so I may have to reverse the way they plug in?

Thanks
Again

NO STEVEN LOL-I didn't jump start meself.!!!Just thought I'd give him a friendly heads-up!(Who wants to start their day with shock treatments!)Ya-Snuffy-you can try that and see.If they're not coming on AT ALL-it's usually the leads are crossed. If they're coming on "some",then it's most likely the contact in the connectors-that's what was going on with mine anyway.Sounds kinda funky, but I ended up removing the plastic plug(the two prong one that goes into the lamp lead stock connector)and just inserting the prongs into the "light green"connector(as well as the "light blue"connector). That's the connection that can get backwards. So I tried it one way, that didn't light up.Then I reversed it,that solved it.Had to do that on all four lamps. Then once they were coming on,I siliconed the plugs and prongs in there-they work fine now.Go figure-you'd think they would work okay right out of the gate-I suppose a lot of guys here have em work fine.Mine were finicky, that's for sure.I mean, when I installed em and they were hanging outside the bike to the sides-they came on just fine.As soon as I inserted the lamps into the lenses, two of em wouldn't come on(only intermittently).Geez.
