Well... turned out to be a pretty eventful day yesterday..
I tried reaching further around the throttle so as to get full throttle easier. What happened was that by doing that, my launch rpms went from 3500 to about 7 immediately upon clutch release...and the front wheel ( by observers) was said to go to 1 o'clock before I got it headed back down LOL..Personal best for me for a wheelie height :)

We had a steady wind blowing that was 12 mph with gusts, to start the day and never seemed to back off much. sooo
I was sitting on the bike ( both feet on hte pegs ) talking to a friend, when I just sorta got blown over ..LOL I managed to get my right leg out from under the bike and stopped the fall mostly by holding the throttle with my right hand..It was a slo motion thing..I could not believe I was moving then could not believe I actually fell over !! Nothing but the right bar end got damaged on the 14 but my wrist is still pretty sore today. Wow..and only about 50 or 60 people saw it ..

Sooo now I make my second qualifying run, head totally out of it, missed a shift big time and just ended the run and went and hid for awhile.. My daughter arrived and helped me get my head back into the racing and my next run was a 9.78 at 149.79 Dang ALMOST 150 which is my next goal along with 9.50 et.. Keep in mind that wind is still blowing only now instead of a head wind , it is slowly swinging around to come across the track from left to right..

Took an hour to start the racing and now it is obvious we have a cross wind as my daughter was watching the dragsters and said several had the front ends drifting to the right towards the end of the run.. I didn't think too much about it but then our turn came.. gave the other guy his one second lead then took off to chase him down. Second gear shift and got a small head shake as front end got light, shifted to third and wow, big time head shake! That crosswind really hit the bike when the front end got light from gear change. I let off then tried getting back on it as I had almost caught the other guy at that point but the headshake was really bad so I just rolled out of it and coasted across the line.. When I got home Sat nite, my new GPR Steering stabilizer was sitting on the front porch !!! You can bet your boots it will get installed today :)

Oh yeah.. still in Second place after third race..:)

you what, like, 5' 3" 130 lbs, surprised you don't get blown over more often! ;)

Good write up.

Was watching your previous video and you where getting some pretty
strong starts and keeping the wheel down.

Could get a 1/4 turn throttle and shorten the throw a little with
different reel sizes.

Piken.do you know of a 1/.4 turn that speeds up the pull on the top and still gives max control at lower RPMS ? Is that what you mean by different eel sizes?

Yes....

The Motion Pro Rev2

Motion Pro Rev2

I have this on my track bike (zx10), because by the end of the day my wrist
would be killing me from full on to full off throttle changes.

The Motion Pro Rev2 has several changeable reels. 1 reel is a progressive
reel, starts out stock size and then increases in diameter so you still
get fine control at throttle start and then allows shorter throw as you open
the throttle.

Also just different size reels.

Stock reel is like 36mm

Progressive starts at 36mm and changes in size to like 50mm

The other reels are 35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 50mm
