What have you done to your ZX-14 today?

.
I'm planning to take my baby out for a ride this afternoon. We are expecting a high of 65 degrees fahrenheit today, and 70 degrees tomorrow!!! This morning I changed the oil and filter, using the AutoZone OEM oil filter "F" cap style wrench 65/67 MM. Cost of the oil filter wrench = $5.99.

Thank you Grn, it's been unusually warm today. So far we had three winter storms in December, in fact, in some areas you can still see snow. Crazy weather, but at least it gives me a chance to take my bike out for spin.

Glad you can ride....have a blast!Take some pics...whatever....liked your vids as well....be safe...;)

In keeping with the topic...I have to install a new left brake rotor....I have one...just waiting for a rise in temps...don't want to snap any bolts ya know;)Don't know HOW it got this runout...but it's there alright...couldn't feel it through the lever...happened to notice it when I had the new rim installed....may have happened from 'practicing' emergency stops with the ABS deal...IDK....I did the caliper removing and installing...all that...I know I didn't 'bend' it when I did all that.My guess is heat related with the ABS deal.

Any idea how much force it would take to warp one of these when removing the caliper?(or installing)?

Grn, installing and or removing a caliper should NOT warp a disk on any motorcycle.

Well, I looked at her and wished today was favorable for riding. It's warm enough but pouring down rain. :(

I checked the battery tender and then started her up and let the engine warm up. Still hoping for at least one more nice day in 2013...

Yeah Kof...I know...I kinda meant 'bent'...you know, like trying to get it to clear the rim(the caliper)...but it does clear if ya turn it a certain amount of degrees off the bolt mounts and then slide it back and out.So I don't think I damaged it...I'm very careful about that as per the manual.

With about 275 miles less than 40K, I changed the oil and filter today. 4.3 qts of Mobil 1 4T 10W-40 and a Wix 51358 filter. All my winter maintenance is done; new front brake pads, new tires, rebuilt rear shock, new oil and seals in the front fork. Only thing left to do is either repair or replace the upper fairing, which is cracked across the right mirror mount.

Up on stands, check oil, check tires, a little touch up lube on the chain and away we go. I can't get over how little this bike needs. This was actually two days ago, had a 62 degree day in Denver.

ordered a brocks race kit for mine a few weeks ago. got the header and pcv installed, kinda putting off the lowering kit because I still like to do the curves here in the hill country. ordered a hyperpro steering damper a month ago and still haven't even gotten an order number from them. man, she sounds mean with that alienhead on there. now have to be waaaay more careful where I hit it, cause the piggies will hear me from a mile away and be waiting on me!! a pretty strong norther just blew in a half hour ago, so maybe ill do the clutch part of the kit today. its just springs anyway. is it June yet?????

Take a look at the video online from sportbike track gear on the vortex gas cap.
Imo, I wouldn't get it.... looks like it takes 5 mins to thread the thing out. If you are thinking of changing.... go with a 1/4 turn unit..... but, like everything else.. just my

I reset the clock after having the battery out to wire all the extras to terminal blocks. Added an SAE plug for charging the battery. Over foot of snow today, so I'm drinking beer and watching the NFL Playoffs.

Had mine flashed by the great predator racing.

Installed a new set of Pirelli Angel GT's (55 profile).

Installed a set of M4 megaphones.

Installed a 12v outlet in the dash.

Bunch of Yosh hard parts.

Fresh AMSOIL 10W40 oil, filter and an OEM air filter.

Soon to come... ZG Marc1 Windscreen, Hyperpro stabilizer.

Changed oil and filter, adjusted and lubed the chain, and installed a radiator guard.

COX radiator guard...

And most important of all, went for a ride in 70f / 21c temps.
