I started this tread in the newbie section and it was suggested I move it into the main section but saw the Q&A section and thought this might be a better place. I just bought a 2006 ZX14 it has a muzzy header and exhaust and the PC3 in it but when I slow down even a little it back fires sometimes quit loud . I know next to nothing about this setup except it is adjustable. I am going to be spending the day on the computer reading up about it. So any help will be appreciated. Now as I got the bike used I don't have the program CD doe's any know where to pick up a copy.

Does it have smog block off plates? If not that could be the reason as well as overly rich map on the pc3, or exhaust header flange bolts may be loose drawing fresh air when you let off the throttle.

If not then you may wanna block the fresh air hose going into the air box (right side of the bike above the throttle bodies)

Thanks for the advise and how to page. It will probably be next weekend before I can try some of these mods.

I finally had the chance to block off the PAIR and the backfiring stopped so now I going to have to get the muzzy block off kit. Thanks for the information.
