That reminds me of the wear on my busa's countershaft sprocket I just changed. The side plate is pattern clearly indented into the the RH side of the sprocket as though the same teeth engaged the links repeatedly rather than alternating from link to between link. You could take the chain and drop the side plates right into that wear pattern and it would fit. Obviously my axle was misaligned for some tie but apart from that, I was told the clear side plate shaped wear has to do with sprocket gearing. If both sprockets have an even number of teeth, the links engage alternating link/between, link/between link every time the chain goes around. My busa was 18/43 and it apparently held the same pattern because its even/odd. That may have something to do with your rollers showing rust every other one. Perhaps that rusted ones are the ones that repeatedly grab the countershaft sprocket rather than in alternating fashion. What's your gearing?

Piken.. I shud have mentioned that thisis the 2018 Z900RS I purchased a couple months ago.. It had 2300 miles when I bought it and now has 4200 plus a few ..95% stock..
The extended swing arm was on the 2013 ZX14 and have taken it off this week..Going back to pursuing my original STock Wheel Base endeavor at teh strip and getting in some street riding . Just miss the power of the 14 . :) No problems on the 14 :) It is like the Eveready Bunny...
