I run open air. I can match other bikes if they sit in traffic, or a light, I am hot, 3 or 4 bars high. When it is hot out, I am a solid 3 bars. This is full exposure short of removing the front fender.
Not a thing you can do but wait till the tea is ready and is on your leg. Other than that, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The more miles I put on my 08 the cooler it runs. Putting Mobil 1 10-40 synthetic in it last oil change helped a lot as well. Today I got stuck in the local bicycle boondoggle and had to ride for miles at 25 - 30 mph while threading my way thru the spandex crowd. Before the switch to syn it would pop 4 bars the min I slowed below 35 mph. Today it took a bit to get to 4, never went higher and after only a mile or so was back down to 3. Used to take 3 or 4 miles to cool it back down.
Long and short of it, break it in and run good oil....... YMMV RON

They do run hot, I run Engine Ice, and a Synthetic blend oil and noticed that it runs one to two bars cooler after the change. It gets pretty hot here out here, Ive thought about upgrading the fan or adding a 2nd fan. I think Kawi updated the fan on the 08 so Im not sure if changing to a Muzzy fan or other would make a difference. Does any else know more about this? I would like to know if the stock fans are different and if it would be worth the trouble to change it out.

Put some more miles on it, change to synthetic oil, remove front fender deflectors (spats) and add aftermarket exhaust. Also I haven't tried it but I've heard the 4 degree timing advance helps. All help and mine runs cool now, two bars above "C" in warm weather.
