Need 2009 green fairing - right side
09/20/12 10:02 AM

So I got into my first bike accident in 20 years last night. Pretty minor overall, lowsided when I hit some gravel taking a turn about 30. Let me tell you how glad I am I was wearing my riding gear last night. Without my full face helmet and armored leather shoulder, I'd be in the hospital at best. With it, I have a busted helmet, torn jacket, and some bumps and bruises and some skin lost on my knee through the jeans.

Anyway, the impact broke off the frame slider, and the bike slid across a couple lanes of traffic on the right side. No big damage, but of course the fairing has some road rash.

I'm looking for:
- main front headlight fairing - green
- main right side fairing - green
- right grill - black
- right lower - black
- a good set of frame sliders that won't break off on impact

Sorry about to hear about that Caroobs! I got back from riding the sisters yesterday and I had some close calls: deer, gravel, coyote! I'm glad you're alright. There is this guy who sell new plastic out of Canada. He buys new 14's and just for the motor. Forgot his name but if you search it here, you should find it. Other than that ronayers.com has the best prices.

Anyone ever try out one of those Chinese fairing sets from eBay? Considering I can buy 3 of those for the price of 1 of the next cheaper set, is it worth trying out?

Go for it, with something like plastics you can save a ton...might have to redrill a hole or two but easy to patch and shape. China's getting pretty damn good at imitations recently, and free ship on most stuff...

yeah it could be him (Canadian). I would stay away from the Chinese plastic, heard stories: cracking, fitment problem and bad paint job. You could get lucky but it's not worth the gamble imo!

I'd also recommend staying away from the chineese plastics, the price is great, but i bought a set for my 2000 ZX9, and the fitment was poor (the front fender plain old didn't fit, luckily my OEM ones were still good), had to re-drill pretty much EVERY hole and within the 1st year the top coat started peeling.

I'd check out ebay for a couple of weeks/months and pickup whatever you can from there (OEM) and then check out places like bikebandit.com and buy the OEM parts your missing... it'll probably cost you a couple of hundred more, but the quality is WAAAAAY better.

Also, check out Cory, here on the forums, he's got a shop in Ontario, Canada and had sets of OEM plastics for a great price

Thanks for the advice on the Chinese plastics. I did talk to Cory and his price per piece is great. Only problem is that he will only sell the entire bike's worth of fairings, including tank and cowl and everything, which is way more than I need and way more than I want to spend. If I were doing a whole color change that would be great. But for just the few pieces I need I think it's just too much.

I'll keep an eye out here and on other forums and eBay. If anyone comes across right side fairing for the green 09, let me know!
