OK Guys, my bike is up and ready to roll! Are we going to set up the ride for the end of May? My Son's graduation is on May 25th so Im out that weekend. After that Im good to go. We need to figure out some specifics on where we are going to stay and if we are going to trailer the bikes down there or not. Im pretty sure LGR will be back in town by then and Jetrocooter is probably still down to roll.

So what are some ideas? I dont know what is in the area and have never done 3 sisters. Here are my questions:

1) How many trailers do we need?
2) Do we trailer down to someplace on Friday then ride on Saturday and trailer back on Sunday?
3) Where are we going to stay?
4) Is there anything to do Friday night and Saturday night? Im thinking that if we stay in Austin there will be plenty to get into.

Lets get the ball rolling and spit out some ideas! Bigwillie is right down the street from me. We have the same 2010 SE, I cant wait to see it. @Bigwillie stay safe our there man and thank you for serving!

I'll probably do one solo ride down there before end of may but I really don't mind waiting for Bigwillie. 100 degrees don't faze me unless I'm stock in traffic which shouldn't happen on our way down there. I don't think we would need trailers. Like I said you guys could ride down to Austin or even Marble Falls to meet us up for lunch. A couple of hours later we could head to Kerrville which is a 2 hour ride from Austin, spend the night there and ride the three sisters the next day. We would then come back to Kerrville and spend another night there and leave in the morning for Austin. After lunch and a long break in Austin, the Dallas crew would head back and probably be home late PM.

* 1st weekend of May would be: the 4th.

Thanks retsam... I'm not in the Army any more, but I do still enjoy working with and around our boys and girls in uniform, so I stay on the job! They are really doing their best despite the few recent setbacks and my heart goes out to them for all that they sacrifice so that the rest of us can do the things we love and raise our families in safety!

Sure hate that I will more than likely miss this one. But I might do the solo thing myself once I get back just for the experience... We still have friends and family in Austin, lived there myself for a few years back in the late 90's. Good reason to pay them a visit, of sorts... Ride safe!

I am heading there on the 11th next month but will be free to go any other time as long as I get a 3 week notice.

hey yall just got back from a trip to arkansas. a friend and i loaded up the 14 and his gsxr1k in the truck and headed over there tuesday morning. rode all day wed, thur, and friday. just got back last night. the roads up there are phenominal. buddy got a speeding ticket.... other than that it was a great trip. when we going to the three sisters?? first weekend of june i have two graduations to do and thats it. its gettin hot!!

I went to check it out it was nice. basically we're waiting for the guys up North to let us know when we can do it. In the meantime I would be going again this week or next.
