Looking for thoughts on the question about HID kits for this bike. (from ebay)

Bulb types, balast type, longeitity... etc. Seems to me that HID's, particularly digital balast type kits, largely ought to be about the same.... There are some pretty radical pricing differences on the kits on ebay. At those prices, I'd like to replace both low and high. The prices have sure come down in the last several years.

Do the varying prices make sense -vs- quality?

Are there really any major differences with HID kits for this bike off ebay?

Anyone particularly happy with their HID off ebay?

Are the balasts the smaller/mini type?

What type bulb did you select (not color)?

How long have you han and what do you think about them now? Can these be used for high beams as well? -though they would not work for blinking with the off and on switch.

I see no reason why the prices won't go down much more. Switching power supplies used to be tricky and expensive to perfect for some reason. Looks like Chinese manufacturers have finally figured it out. The bulbs are very easy to make. Just a quartz tube with a tiny ball of mercury and a few other metals.

I have the large ballast, bulb type? hid. only had them a few months. yes you can use them for hi beams, adustment was 2 turns up if I remember correctly

JC, keep a close eye on the shipping cost. Some kits are listed cheaper than others but the shipping is outrageous. There is more pics in the HID how to section.

JDC...check out this thread. Alot of info on the HID's as well as LED's. I listed the sites where I got mine.
