2014 zx14r dyno and i'm not happy
05/19/14 6:54 PM

I just dynoed my totally stock 2014 zx14r with 770 or so miles on her.
I'm not exactly pleased with the results
SAE 180.4 HP
Max Torque 108.5
Just wondering ....I shut off the traction control but when he started the pull the rear end was hopping because the traction control was not happy ... This caused the error light to come on....
Could this have effected the bikes output???

2004 zx12 1290cc 191std HP 495 lbs
2014 zx14r 195sae HP 520 lbs
2014 Loring AFB 14 runs over 200mph
with a best of 208.1 in 1.5 miles
and 204.5 in the mile.
Now the Turbo 14R - best of 223.1 in the mile and 224.6 in the 1.5

Part 2

I sent the computer to have Cblast work his magic
while waiting for that to return
I install my BMC air filter
and the newly arrived Brock CT full system
The switch went well
My zx14r feels like a different bike
it handles significantly better, she feels so much lighter
Though I can't say what improved the bike more
having the computer done by Cblast or the titanium exhaust
But the combination of the two worked Great together.
I'm Really Really Please
I cant wait to put my bike back on the dyno.
And an environmental side note
fuel mileage went up from 33 to 36 smiles per gallon

Dyno is a tool. Leaves some of us disappointed and some overly happy. Your gains will be your constant.
Concentrate on the before # and after work was performed # to get your real world gains. Keep as much the same as you can. Use Same Dyno, SAE Smoothing 4 etc . Happy and stingy Dynos are all over the Map every where.

She is going to Rock, congrats.

Your dyno is just a baseline. Dyno numbers are highly dependent upon the bike, the location, who's running the dyno, etc.

If you measure the same bike in the same conditions on the same dyno, and modify it, then you know whether or not you're making or losing progress. Don't get hung up on the number. Those are for pissing contests.

Don't sweat those numbers. Mine on a hot day, stock (approx. 4000 miles) - except synthetic oil; made 180-184rwhp std.

After full exhaust, PC-V, tune, and ecu flash made 207 / 121 (different dyno). Later this summer I am going back to the same dyno where I made the stock pulls to see what it is now. That will be more of a direct comparison of before/after, I think.

Your bike probably isn't low, and I bet pulls just as hard as those who have gotten the 190+ numbers. I was feeling the same before and wanted 190+, but I'm not sweating it now.

194.97 SAE is a real nice strong number! Congrats man! Sounds like she is runnin great!

So that's a about 15hp gain from ur baseline run basically. Excellent. That baseline run should have not been runnin a .99 SAE correction factor. Straight 0.0 and smoothing 5 is what I recommend. Jut sayin sir! Awesome results overall!

Wow old threads popping up. Hows my baby girl treating you ? 100hp gains takes some getting use to. I do miss her.

Middle Bike is Capt10ed now. Are you still here ?

213 is a real nice number. What was your hp number prior to tune ?

Hey Rick
Still here...:)
I'm loven' the turbo. I'm taking good care of our baby, She's in the process of a face lift.
Like you've mentioned numerous times ..... boost is addictive and a drug for gear heads.
She's getting pistons, rods, stainless exhaust valves, springs, a ported head with APE cyl studs.
I'm looking to turn the boost up but still keeping it reliable.
I recently email you because I had a couple of questions.

Capt Boost is a love like no other. I for one would have trouble living without it. Many many times wish I never tried it. More fun on two wheels is not possible.

Capt are you really going to run the mile with a bike making 500 plus horse power? What top speed are you shooting for ?

You Top Speed guys are a very special Breed of gear head. Respect!

Capt I am currently in Miami. I will contact you when I get home. I will only be to happy to help you with your new build. All I have is yours.

Cheers
Rick

Wow that's insane..especially the 213 rwhp numbers.

I would need a NASA space suit to ride that one! SOunds similar to what the H2 puts out right?
