Hub, I have a 08 zx-14. I just recently had a friend who does all service work and used to work for a Kawi dealer pull my flies for more throttle response. I have a muzzy m14/m10 full system and pc 3 install. I had muzzys send me the map for my exhaust system with (no flies). We remapped the pc 3 and the bike was hasting a little between 2000 and 5000 rpm, so leaned out the low and mid range on the pc 3 and it seemed better. I was still a little uncomfortable with it so I had it dyno tuned and remapped. Its definetly better but i'm not sure is perfect. My major concern is that this will cause damage to the engine and it will not be covered by Kawi. Can you please give me some imput on this?

Thanks for the detailed reply hub. The bike is definetly more responsive and less restricted w/o the flies. I didn't really notice any problems with the flies in other than the lag in power. After reading all the other post I decided to pull them to gain the low end power I was missing, and yes sir she definetly gets up and goes better than before. I am very happy with the power, but I was just concerned with damaging the motor. Now you definetly helped to clear things up. Thanks again.
I do have another concern the with decal popping, especially at 3500-3600 rpm. Romans told me installing a tre would help with that but I didnt want to loose the gear indicator or mess anything electrical. I guess I just wasn't sold on the tre after reading all the post. I already blocked off the reed chambers and plugged the airbox with the muzzys kit, and it still backfires. That was another reason a had the custom map done. Do you have any other suggestions???
