^^OK, Kruz- you got me thinking again. I know a couple guys with full system Muzzy M-10 and Brock's smeg from tuesday bike gatherings. If I ask them to ride their 14s they will probably faint. Hope they leave their keys in the ignition cuz then I could just take off and go for a quick spin! I suppose they might let me at least ride behind them.

I'll do the pole too. See Performance Upgrades.

Rook Kruz hit the nail on the head lookout with the full system. My buddy has a Muzzy m10 and the bike was tuned at Fuel Moto and it made 183 hp on there dyno. The bike feels like a 1000 until about 7k rpm and then it takes off and thats with a TRE. If you like the bottom and the low mid range power the bike has now don't get an M10. I'll put it this way my 06 with no flies,Yoshi slip-ons,and PC with a free HPC map pulled alot harder below 7000 and was noticeably quicker yet it only made 164hp. I have to admit his bike did pulled harder up top but it felt like a stock 06-07 bike below 7k rpm.

There you go rook, see if you can get a ride on someone elses bike with the AH pipe and the mapping dialed in and see if you like it....only way to know for sure. I read Bad in Blacks post and he was honest that there was some low to mid loss with the 4-2-1 but big grin factor on top end. Also willidx has similar setup to mine, not stellar dyno numbers but a big wallop right off idle, that's what I like. Different strokes. I took the CBR and out and caned it pretty good over the weekend and I have to admit it's growing on me. The 14 is staying in the garage a lot more these days and the VTX is starting to grow moss on the north side. LOL!

^^Thanks for input, guys. I really like the looks and sound of the M4 retrodrags for slipons. There is no info to be found on retrodrag performance increase. Only thing I've seen is "anamosity's" post of a tuned '08 with M4 dyno graph which looked like a slight improvement over stock in low and midrange with 11 hp gain on top. If I can at least retain the bottom end performance of the stock system on the 14 I would be happy for now. I wouldn't expect 11 hp on top. That sounds a bit inflated, IMO.

If I go with slipons, think I should stick with the Yoshis because they seem to have more of a proven record? Or would you be comfortable going with M-4s? There seems to be plenty of members with M-4s and they all like them but I don't here anything about performance enhancement except from Anamosity.

Yoshimura claims 5 hp gain at peak for their slipons without the quiet inserts. I like mine just fine.

My co-worker Timber has the M-4's on his 07 S.E. He also has his flies out, Ivan's TRE-006A and map. My 06 has the 2 inch core Area P's. Powercomanders stock map and a BMC street air filter. Any speed any gear roll on's under 6K RPM he can hang with me that half second till my flies open. Then I flat run off and leave him till I let off the gas. I can say without question his M-4's improved the handling of his bike with the weight loss. Also, for me personally, they are to loud for my taste. But if they did any major increase to help performance, I can not say. All I can tell you that's the main reason my flies are still in. My TRE is still un-opened sitting on my work bench. And Ivan's map is still waiting to be installed.

Thanks. I'm seeing the M4s as a great way to maintain close to stock performance at a good price while dropping weight and improving sound and looks a whole bunch. That's exactly what I'd be looking for by going with that system. Be interesting to see what Timber's bike would do with a custom tune or Autotune, though. As far as I know, there is no "M4 retros" map available. 'course, your Area Ps would probably see some increase with a more precise map also.

Possibly. But I.M.O. it's perfect just as it is. So why frack with perfection? My luck a different map would change some characteristic. Then I'd have to do like Kruz and his Honda and have to learn to love it after the changes. No thanks.

Kind of how I feel about my stock pipes map but I have got to get rid of those stockers.

A speedohealer would be useless with stock gearing and a taller rear tire- it's really close
according to calculations...

saw that Rook mentioned he would get one

With the stock pipe design of the 14, slip-ons work very well on it. They complement the already strong low and midrange characteristics, while giving you a little more of everything I was very happy with the slips on my 14. Combined with Ivans map/tre/BMC race/flies out it had unbelieveable low and midrang and gained abit on top as well But like I mentioned in another post if you want the maximum power a full systems the ticket. And like Kruz mentioned you'll adjust to the new pipes characteristics. I would have been happy to leave my slips on my 14 if my valve cover wouldn't have started leaking, which led to a bike teardown and turbo lol.

Not entirely useless if you have dreams of running up to/past the speed limiter. Probably be a while before I try that, though.
