I have a ZX14R with 11,000 miles now, original air filter. Is it time to replace? And where is it? Does the fairing need to come apart?

I changed my G2 at 7500 and it was fcuking dirty and where I ride aint no dirt. Ram air seems to work good ramming bugs and crap to the air filter and CA don't have bugs either because we live in a fcukin desert (most years)

No oil on the foam? I've been using K&N and BMC for years.

I'd only wash a reusable one that is designed to be washed and reused.
I feel best replacing an OEM filter. Break off the tabs and remove the steel plate and it will be lighter than a BMC and the difference in flow compared to a race filter will be negligible. Actually I was told by a tuner the difference in AFR with or without a race filter is already negligible,

That's a negatory on the fiber washing. Pressure pushes the microns deeper into the fibers, then pass out the other side scoring the cylinder wall, skirts, etc. Best move is to replace with a new element. I sacrifice the ram-effect for engine longevity. I want the most compression made, not leaking down score lines, we add up the scores and find a combined leak down the side of the cylinder kind of lost compression.

I'm not saying to never replace a air filter, but....
A cleaned and reused paper filter "is better" then a dirty paper filter, period.
A dirty filter will increase vacuum pressure and draw more/larger particles through the filter.
What is the filtering efficiency of a new paper filter vs a cleaned and reused paper filter?
What is the filtering efficiency of a cleaned paper filter vs a K&N filter which has
lower filtering efficiency then a paper filter to start with.
Engine longevity and lost compression from using a cleaned paper filter is
a little over dramatized. How many 10's of thousands of miles and years it
would take to show any more wear one over the other, would be a lot if ever due
to other things that will effect engine wear/longevity and lost compression.
I do have a vehicle bought new 17 years ago, 175k miles and has never had a new air filter, but then
I've never done a leak down test on it either.
But, yes, you should always replace the air filter with high quality paper filter for
best filtration efficiency.
