Part Help (push pin?)
05/12/17 3:14 PM

As usual, as soon as I order parts for a bike I find one more thing that I need after I get it! It appears to be a missing push pin based on what is on the left side: does someone have a part#? I looked at the diagram and cannot figure it out. Also, is there a place I can easily get one from? I could order it but I know the shipping will probably cost 10 times more than the part! Thanks in advance...Bob Z.

Try Ace hardware. I've seen them there by the nuts and bolts in the drawers. The collet length may not be exactly what you need but worth a shot.

Start a little collection of all the little plastic pop rivets, plastic clamp rings,
well nuts, screws, drain plug washers, copper washers for brake lines, coolant plug, etc.

The 14 has like 3 different sizes of plastic pop rivets.

Every time I order parts I pick a few of these little items. Nice to have
on hand. Can't stand putting something back together and
having it stretched, worn out or broken. You will need them.

I had a parts bin like that until last fall, when it was lost during the flooding from Hurricane Matthew...I started it over 3 years ago. I will check ACE Hardware, unless I have to order the heat shield from behind the Foreman Grill that I am not sure I need (see related post). The push pin I need is for my 2014 ZX14, toward the front just above the upper most spear:

I could swear I've seen these at some hardware or perhaps farm type stores (rural king for example). Do-it-best might have a small automotive hardware selection. I'd think something you could buy from Amazon with a variety of push pins would probably work. These definitely aren't unique to Kawasaki or anything.

It's hard to imagine how hellish it is to have all of your possessions in disarray and not even know if precious belongings you remember are lost or not unless you actually go through it. Looks like you're back on track.

Many in my area faired much worse so we consider ourselves lucky. We live on the top (8th) floor of our condo but since the parking garage is underground it filled with 4'+ of water. Our unit was unaffected but the elevators were down for about 3 weeks but power came back on after 3 days, and we only lost one car, one motorcycle, a couple bikes, and a locker so again, we were lucky.

Anyway, I'll be stopping at Ace to see if I can find push pins and if not Partzilla will get more of my business!
