It hasn't always been my opinion. But the longer I have my 14 the more I feel that it does not really make a super great touring bike. It's to me a wonderful fast, powerful carving road burner. But to ride all day and have the 'comfort' of say,a Harley...nope.It just doesn't IMO.I love my bike....as far as I can see,I won't get rid of er.I wanted a big sportbike. And it fills that bill for me perfectly.I'm too old to go for a 10 or smaller. And a full on touring bike just wouldn't do it for me.Sorry Privateer to hear you are selling yours.I'm in no way suggesting you 'don't like it' or anything like that. You've put a bunch of lovingcare into her....she's a way cool bike.Hope you get what your asking for her.
There was a thread a while back about whether getting a 14 for riding at legal speeds was really worth it.Back then,I said..'well,yeah'.Today,I'd have to kinda switch up my opinion. If you're just gonna ride legal and never go faster or more agressively,then,no....it would be a waste of potential IMO.It's supposed to be a rocket. That's what it is IMO.But I'll say, cruising with my bike at less than legal speeds has actually opened my eyes to another side of this bike that I had'nt really spent much time looking at while riding. It's actually very nice to throttle back and just 60ish around out there on those open roads. But of course, the need for carving and power ALWAYS get me...and it's there always.
