2019 AUSTIN MOTOGP
12/30/18 3:26 AM

Howdy all, just want to check and see if anybody might be interested in riding out to motogp in texas, I plan on going solo so far. im looking at best scenic route options, good eats along the way, and nice lodging when in Austin. Its about 1,500 miles one way.

Also if any of you 14teeners have been there and would care to give any recomendations on anything, that would be nice.
On another thread some folks mentioned aka 3 sisters, fm335,336,337, near leaky which will get checked out. Im planning the route and any good routes between ca, and austin will be appreciated.

might even visit a couple of shooting ranges along the way for some recoil therapy.

consider this an invitation only if you can hang riding your zedx14 that far.

if anybodys interested hit me up via message, or call me at 805 455-4841.

thanks

I have not been to a MotoGP but I did go to the F1 race there a few yrs ago. My buddy made the hotel reservations and put us way north of downtown. That sucked because we had to drive downtown and the parking sucks. If I go back again I will differently stay downtown in one of the big hotels like the Westin or like. During F1 they close the downtown and it was a great big fun party with several free music stages, food and all sorts of fun F1 stuff. They also had a great bus service for like $10 to the track (traffic to the track is a mess and the bus has direct express)

The dates are april 6th to the 21st, trying to put together an awesome loop, all input would be appreciated.

Yes, i think best case scenario is to stay at one of the big downtown hotels on sixth st, close to all the good steak houses and nite life. That bus service is a good idea.

good to hear from you guys.

yup, yup, when i found out wsbk wasnt happening at laguna seca this year i thought well ill ride out to moto gp in austin even tho im not a big fan, now that wsbk is confirmed for 2019 at laguna i might cancell my trip to austin.

im really not into the big crowd scene, so we will see if i stick to the original game plan or change it up. its just i love off road and also want to do the trans americacan trail, the continental divide trail, and the back country discovery route trails for all the states that offer them.

I will be pushing the big 50 this year and have a bucket list of rides i want to do. In the mean time ive been geting out on my 2001 honda xr650r and 2001 kawasaki kx500 this year and haveing alot of good riding. some of my favorite local riding areas are rock front ranch, ballinger, pozzo, and gorman, as well as jawbone.

enjoy the texas mile, sounds like ane awesome time,

I'll be there but I'll be riding down from Michigan so we're coming from completely different directions. Depending on weather (might have to leave between snow storms) I could be down there as early as the 8th or as late as the 11th.

I have a hotel booked from Wednesday through Monday and I have a campsite in lot N at the track too. Depending on weather, traffic, etc I may camp overnight Saturday so I can be there first thing Sunday without having to ride in.
I have a seat in the T15 stands and will be parking in lot D. I should be pretty easy to spot (pic of the bike below). I plan on being at the track Thursday night to grab a camp spot and pitch my tent and I'll be at the track all day Friday thru Sunday.

If I get down there early enough I plan on riding in the Texas hill country (know guys from another board that live down there that can show me around). If I get there Thursday night I'll head there after the race (I have the week before and after the race off). I'll message you my ph # and keep yours and maybe we can hook up when we're down there and go for a ride.
