2021 Rigid Saddle Bags
01/08/21 8:09 PM

Hi forum,

I’m new to my 2021 ZX 14r and new to the forum, but not new to riding or adding accessories to many bikes. I am looking for rigid saddle bags with mounting frames that will fit my bike. I have been unable to find anything for model year 2021. Do previous year mounting brackets fit a 2021? Any help is greatly appreciated.

So far I’ve added Heli bar risers, double bubble screen, Sargent seat and waiting on my Yoshi slip ons and tail bag.

Thanks!

Welcome to our Web Site. You made a wise purchase.

Twisted Throttle still sells SW-Motech brackets. They are out of stock at this time.
https://twistedthrottle.com/shop/luggage/luggage-racks-accessories/side-luggage-racks/sw-motech-quick-lock-evo-profile-side-carrier-black-kawasaki-zzr-1400-06-11/

Brackets fit all years. All a person has to do is drop the Factory exhaust muffler 1" for clearance. But since you are changing out your Rocket Launchers, you will have clearance.
Use the "Search" Tab and put in Givi Bags. Plenty of Info listed.
I used Givi V35 bags and SW-Motech Brackets.
EBay has a new set for $245 with free ship. That is a bargain.

DoubleD,

Thanks for your response and the info, that’s good news. I have a sw motech soft bag on the passenger seat and a tank bag. I’ll see how that works out and assess from there. Yup, it’s a hoot to ride, puts a smile on my face like I was 18 all over again.....

I'm not sure but it kinda looks like Jenny Lake in the Tetons

That is highway 191 running parallel with Jackson Lake, with the Grand Tetons in the background. This is at the north end of the lake. My older Brother and I were riding along heading north (Glacier National Park) and I spotted an opening for 2 Bikes.
Once in a Lifetime photo. We will never be there again. I probably will never ride a motorcycle in that area again. I've moved from Colorado to Arkansas.
The Blue Ridge Parkway looks interesting and Natchez Trace Trail.

I've traveled through this area 3 different times; that's enough.

I have the same Givi cases and mounts that doubleD has. They're great, although not cheap. And I can't guarantee it, but it seems like the 2021 is the same as the all previous ZX14's back to 2012, and I'd bet that anything that fits 2012-2020 will fit 2021.

Extrapolaror, thanks for your response and the endorsement. My accessories budget is going to a LSL handlebar conversion kit, just ordered it. And a peg lowering kit. And a new radar detector, blue tooth transceiver, and a set of custom molded ear buds. My wife just shakes her head and tells me to be careful on “that thing”. She’ll ride on my goldwing but isn’t interested in the ZX. Rode more break in miles yesterday, so much fun and I haven’t even gone past 6K on the tach.

Under 6K so far ... if you haven't ridden sport bikes much, be careful! It's the revs past 6,000 where the space shuttle acceleration thrust happens. You can go from 90 to 150 in a heart beat.

Have fun!

Thanks for the heads up! I will ease myself into the insane part of the rev range :). At 58, I've been fortunate to have owned many fast street bikes, dirt bikes, quads and boats so I'm familiar with fast. Although I have not experienced fast at the ZX 14 r level, but I will work my way into it (thus the need for a radar detector). Reminds me of the nervous anticipation I felt on the Honda CR 500 I had for a spell.

I appreciate all the info on the forum!

That seems to be just the mounting hardware, not the cases themselves. I could be wrong, but verbiage and the price seem to suggest as such. OP, check with the seller if you do go that route.

Will do, thanks ManiZ. My accessories wish list is outpacing my budget, hard bags a are on pause until the higher priority ergonomic upgrades are completed.
