i need header install help
02/04/11 5:21 PM

ok everyone, just bought a yoshi 4-2-1 system. i cannot figure this out. i installed all the parts, looks great, fired it up, and wow! what a noise coming from the headers. it appears that the header is not seated to the engine, like it should. all the springs are on, is there a step im missing? is the only thing holding the headers on is the springs? that cant seem right, i can look where the header meets up with the engine, and i see a gap. any help would be just great. thanks- adam

did you seal the header pipes going into the flanges with hi temp copper sealant?

The header pipes/exhaust manifold/gasket isn't on there? How can that be?It should be shouldn't it?Something to tighten down the header pipes to the block?Rings or something?Mine has two small bolts on there(each head pipe)...you're saying you don't have any fasteners except springs?Hmmmmm....doesn't sound right to me.They should mate up onto the head there, yes?Flush with the block?Or slightly going into the ports?Something's not okay.Where are the stock tightening/fastening rings?(unless I've got this all wrong here).

Keep checking around for info.

Kruz had a heck of a time with his yoshi headers fitting his CBRHonda. He torqued the F%%K out of them and never got them to seat right. He ended up throwing them in the dumpster. No damage was done but he went to Akra after that on all his bikes.

--Not saying there should be any problem with the 14 and Yoshi full systems--never heard that before---but check around. Hope you get it on there right.
