Have a look at http://www.techmounts.com- they make some pretty good stuff.

I have a Techmount steering stem mount but it's not a ramball. Very nice but DO NOT use any kind of lube before installing with the hope that it will come out easier. The orings may swell and they already fit veru tight. I used silicone spray and I ended up taking off the fender to stick a dowel up from underneath to tap it up with a hammer. I wouldn't leave one of those in for long unless you plan on having it more or less permanent. I usually only push mine in the first two orings.

RAM systems stem-mount. It located the ball at the stem nice and centered for any video recording of the gauges or thru the windscreen. Super stable I've personally speed verified it to 196mph, lol. The cradle I use is made by RAM themselves, not a 3rd party aftermarket and it locks an iPhone is solid as a rock in one snap motion. 3" long arm with a large enough knob to use it while wearing gloves. They also offer a locking-type arm so you can leave it all on the bike and take the key with you. Best mount on the market IMHO. Law enforcement uses RAM to hold their laptops, and the forklifts at work use RAM stuff to mount all sorts of equipment to the roll bars and dashboard.

A basic stem setup will cost you about $50. Only downside I have seen is most steering stabilizers want to be mounted in the stem as well, so it's one or the other. Or else find one like the hyper pro that can coexist with the ball installed.

I use RAM Mount. No problems in nearly 8000 miles.

I'm buying it right now.
