KLX300
07/31/21 4:53 PM

The plague kept my on the hunt for months. I was also looking at the Honda CRF300L but the Asshat Dealers in the Valley of the Sun who actually had one dont even return call with messages left like "cash in hand" Apparently lots have cash these days

So anyway, glad I ended up with this 2022 KLX300 from the shop in Cottonwood AZ. List price plus all of the usual BS but I gave them a card for a deposit way back and this showed up on their truck Tue

1st drive around the block between rain cells yesterday

1st local road up and over the mountains behind town on the road down to Skull Valley - nice new playground, bout 10 miles from the house

Locals having fun apparently didnt see the water and mud until a bit too late

So first impressions from a zero experience on dirt old dirt bag; 1) 4K rpm limit sucks for 150 miles, darn thing seems like its really lugging up hill in 3 at 4k. 2)gonna be lots of fun 3)impressed at the smoothness of the stock Dunlop 606D tires on the pavement, thought it would suck but they are not bad 4) I need some new guy lessons or training - I have zero confidence on the dirt and gravel roads that I not going to lay this little bitch down in the mud

Hopefully I can find something around here take some beginner lessons soon.

There's a fun new riding adventure!!!

Five will get you ten any trainer will tell you you will lay that bitch over in the mud sooner or later. That's what they're for!!! LOL that's why I'd be riding pretty slow off road. I'm getting too old to tumble.

Oh I know its going to happen, Im really slow on the dirt now so when it does the bounce should be a slow one too

For now I'm staying off the OHV trails until she is broken in at 600 miles. around here it not the mud and the sand its the rocks I'm worried about

lol - glad my belly is long gone or for sure I would wheelie like that fat ass did

Did a bit harder 4x4 road today with no get offs (yet) gaining confidence in the Dunlop D606 a small bit. Liking standing up going up steep stuff too. Waiting for the corrects boots tomorrow and the 1st oil change at 150 miles by Tue to try out the torque and wheelie functions (practicing for jumping over logs -right?)

Thanks Street

Let me know when you are starting the AZ Back route, I can come and cover you with an AR10 in the 1st and 2nd sections aka narcoterrorism boarder region, or if you need ammo resupplied along the way. We only charge CA adventure riders cost plus $17/rnd to resupply you. The locals say have your sag wagon bring 2-3 extra bikes to cover the ones ones swiped at night by the future upstanding citizens.

All kidding aside, start at section 2 and avoid the border region.

I saw a couple kids from school out on the trail today. One of them stopped to put his chain back on and took off. The other stayed behind and told me his buddy was riding with a broken chain adjuster on the side where the chain is located and the chain keeps falling off. I told him the chain would either wrap around the front sprocket and tear up the motor or it will lock the rear wheel. "Yeah" he said, "that just happened." I guess it's a good thing he was on gravel. I saw him tearing down the paved road on it too. I hope he takes my advice and replaces that part or he's going to end up with knees like mine. At least it looks like he wears a good helmet. It's a minibike but a fairly large one and it can go at least 40 mph.

haha, now its starting to sound like an adventure. Thanks to Kofla, madevil, and hagg, we dont have a fence to keepem out. i hear theres heavy border patrol activity. im thinkin it will be fun riding along the border fence.

I also hope yanni dont see the smiley you posted going tango blast, becuase people shouldnt own firearms or have the right to own and defend.

now spring and fall are the ideal times to ride, always wanted to visit tombstone and bisbee.
The goal would be to just cruise along checkin out the views.

a while back i did see the eye candy you posted of the ar tens, very nice. show us some of your groups.

thanks for offering to look out, my scars they dont care theyll eat anything, i really dig the 3.5 powered acog on top rockin the red chevron.
