When putting chain wax on, with bike on center stand and in neutral, i noticed the rear time turns slowly.
I can put my hand on it and it stops with no resistance, does my clutch need adjustment or is this normal ?

Also...to clarify for you...there is NO clutch adjustment for this Hydraulic system.Anyone(shop or whatever)tells you you need a clutch adjustment is straight out wrong.Just so ya know.

I take it you mean when the engine is running? When engine is cold this is normal due to excess crutch drag with cold oil. With a hot engine it should be virtually zero.
+1. Normal. You might even feel the bike creep a little with clutch pulled when it is cold and you put it in first gear. The clutch plates don't separate completely because the oil is thick.
I never run my bikes when I lube the chain. I just roll it by hand.
+100. Why chance it? If you haven't seen the pics, just google fingers cut off in motorcycle chain. Ugh! I've pinched my finger a couple times just rolling by hand. It's all engine off, cleaning and lubing.

I only run it on the stand after I clean it to warm up the chain, then I shut it off
lube it by hand, heard of the missing fingers too many time is my life ...

They're not missing. They know where they are. They're just not attached anymore.

Someone posted some pics on the Garage Journal of a guys hand from lubing a chain with the bike in gear and running. Some nasty stuff and he wont be riding again.
Bummer. I'd rather quit riding because I crashed and broke a leg. I'll pass on unnecessary risks.

GRN nice to know that the clutch never needs adusting, my old VF1000 had a hydraulic clutch.
Just to clarify i did the chain wax by hand with engine not running, after i started it for a minute and noticed the rear wheel slowly moving.
Blizzad here today vehicles are totally gone under snow banks.

No, he's cool. BTW, mine always does that when I start it on the rear stand. My busa does the same.

King, that's what you want to see is a nice loose drive-train. When in N, the main-shaft is always spinning with the clutch. The gears in N are called 'freewheelers.' They are engaged when you shift up or down. The freewheelers slide fore or aft. The counter shaft sprocket is sort of locked with the rear wheel, correct?
There are now fixed gears on the counter-shaft. With the engine running, the oil in between the freewheeelers of the main-shaft, this drag is causing momentum on the freewheeler to start building speed as the oil sort of drags the gear with it. This now moves the fixed gear on the counter-shaft, moves the output bearing and that rubber seal is dragging that momentum down.
Every link is now a drag and that oil is still pulling those freewheelers to move bearing after bearing, link after link, rubber seal after rubber seal in the rear wheel alone... That makes one think... No kinked links, no bearing gall, just a loose as a goose tight as a drum drag wink-wink... Like the way my parts act?
Vic, did you plop a senior citizen *forehead pop* on the 'comprehension reading?' I had one of those yesterday on faceplantbook. After he hand turned the wheel to lube the chain, then he lit the bike off, saw how beautiful the parts moved while running. Then he asked the question about how much throttle it takes to pop the pinky off as opposed to the index finger speed?
