That's the rub. I find myself riding differently on hot days so as not to "disturb" the bike. It's like not wanting to stand up because the cat is sleeping on your lap. Stoopid! I too had a ZX11 and never felt heat coming off the engine. It' a shame that I'm not able to just ride without concern. But I think I'm on the right path to being able to do that.
