thinking of doing 50 shot of nos
12/16/13 11:21 PM

For those in the know. Looking do do a 50 shot of nos setup on the 2012 zx14. Stock motor, slip ons at the moment. Whats a better set up - a wet shot or dry shot. Would a progressive controller be necessary? Gonna have 2 maps done. One for just street 91 pump gas and second for nos setup. Any info would be great. Mainly gonna be a street bike may hit the 1/4 mile next summer.

I'm no expert at all here but I was asking all these questions earlier in the year. You will get differing opinions on the wet v dry. The wet set up is more elaborate.

Here is what I have saved from Schnits email. Schnitz has the 203 mph 1/4 mile NOS busa so I figured he'd be about the best person to ask.

I'm starting to think about NOS for my 2008 ZX-14.

I'm not set on wet or dry yet.  Wet looks like it would be safer and
adaptable to a greater range of power needs than a dry system.

I am pretty sure I want a spray bar to deliver the nitrous precisely to
the ducts.  That seems much better than the systems that fog the whole airbox.
What is bothering me as I look at pics of spray bar installs is that while
they allow for perfect induction of N2o, they all seem to obstruct the
flow of natural aspiration.  The much recommended Adams spray bar looks
horrible for natural aspiration.   One of the things about NOS on a street bike,
you will not be using it very often (or even have cause to).  Hate to mess up
the flow of ram air to the ducts.  Natural aspiration will be used
%99.999 of the time, even for most sport riding.  ...but I still want a good NOS
that I will not feel I need to upgrade soon after I become familiar with
it.

Is there  any way to deliver nitrous to each duct as is done with a
spraybar but without obstructing the normal flow of air?

Thanks,

We highly recommend a Dry Nitrous Kit on the ZX-14 for ease of installation and cost.

The ADAM or MPS Spyder spraybar kits to do obstruct any airflow and horsepower and track ET and MPH numbers remain the same with or without installation.

Most of the airflow going into the velocity stacks and down the throttle body come from the sides.  There is very, very little air that flows into the stack from directly above.  The allows  the Adams and MPS Spyder spraybars to be installed without any obstruction to airflow or horsepower.

Would the Adams or the Spyder systems, interfere with Factory Pro velocity
stacks on a ZX-14?

No, not at all.

I have a used dynotune nitrous kit which has yet to be installed. Dynotune is reasonable priced (wet will be a lot more expensive) and you can get just about ANYTHNG from Dynotune that your imagination can dream up. Just have a look at the site and you will start to get ideas.

You can get up to 80 shot with the kit I have. For a 50 shot, I don't think you need a controller but for peace of mind, I will have one as we;ll as other electronic failsafes ASAP. YOu miss a gear on spray and kiss your engine goodbye.
