New horns
01/04/10 4:10 AM

Didn't cost much, but it took a few test fittings to figure out how to do it.

Since I have the cowling off anyway, I decided to fix that roadrunner meep-meep horn. So I unbolted the wishbone bracket it is attached to, and found a set Fiamm electric horns (high and low tone). Each has a 4 inch mounting tab so I attached both of them to the existing hole in the bracket, wired them in parallel, and gave them a test.

I had to turn the wishbone mounting bracket upside down, otherwise the bolts on the horns contact the deflection plate and prevent it from being bolted to the plate.

Loud they are. Which is good. Pictures will follow.

Got them from Amazon, of all places. Search "motorcyle fiamm flosser horn" probably. Came as a pair, high and low tone. Not the same as the car version, these are electric, smaller, and can run on existing horn circuit no problem.

Yes, they are better louder. Whats your point?

And I already said I'd post pictures, when I have time.

I ditched my oem horn because it obviously restricts airflow to the radiator.
