TRE's don't hold the flies open, they fool the ECU into thinking the transmission's always in 6th gear, which eliminates the timing retard in the first three gears. TRE-timing retard eliminator.

The easy remedy for that is to remove the secondaries. Then they open when you twist the wick. They are controlled by the ECU, as is the timing.
