Question about LSL Kit Cables
08/20/15 11:41 AM

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 2008 ZX-14. The previous owner had installed a LSL Handlebar Kit but also added a 4" Rox riser on top of that. As that was simply too high for me I am trying to get the handlebars moved back to the standard LSL position. Unfortunately he installed custom long cables/lines with the 4" riser so they are quite long once I moved the bars back down. I have a few extra braided lines he gave me and I'm trying to identify which might be the front brake line that came with the LSL kit. I managed to find the instructions for the kit online but it does not list any measurements. If anyone has the kit and happens to know the length of the lines and maybe has a picture to match them up that would be a great help.

Thank you in advance,
Erik

That is pretty accurate. Let me see if I have a picture of it...
Here we go:

It was a bit much for me.

To make it a bit easier I took a picture of the two lines I have. Contrary to the tape, the top is 17" long, end to end, and the bottom is 20.5". Hoping one of these was the one Spiegler/LSL originally supplied with the kit for the front brake.

Is this what you want? Please could you send me a copy of the fitting instructions. Also is your banjo the same as this one? Thanks.

Thanks redboot. It looks like my shorter line is the one for the front brake lever. Do you happen to know if a longer clutch line came with the kit?

If you need a link to the instruction PDF I found it on a European parts distributor. Here it is:

https://cdn2.louis.de/content/catalogue/articles/zusatz/anl/10021392_MONT_GB_12.pdf?_ga=1.9952821.1697344265.1440314315

If you have any problem with that link shoot me a PM and I can email you the PDF directly.

@redboot:

I forgot to answer your question. Yes, the banjo installed on the bike looks like the one in your picture.

Hi Kire.

The longer clutch line is not included in the kit, only the brake lines.
My pad does not want to down load the link so I will send you a pm.

I road it once with the original risers and I will say it mostly felt...odd. It just didn't fit with the leg position or just feel right on the bike. I currently just trying to get everything situated with the standard LSL kit on there and see how that goes.

Standard kit should feel okay.I had one on mine...I also had the LSL superbike high bars on there.Later switched those out for Renthals.Worked well...4" rise,7" pullback. When I switched back to the factory setup...it seemed to handle somewhat better...guess it was the bar input angle or something.
