I would love to see variable valve timing on the ZX14. Much better than butterflies. Good response around town, full power when you need it.
It also would be nice if any updates are retro compatible with older bikes...

Why? I doesn't to a thing on the C14 except add weight.

Given all the pre launch hype of the Gen 2 in 2012 I reckon we'dve seen or heard something by now if the '17 model was radically different to the current bike. JMO

Auron, I think the trend might lean to the VVT down the road... sooner than you think.

I was gonna say, why should KHI change anything? The 14R is still King Daddy at the dragstrip and there are no serious contenders on the horizon other than maybe the BMW S1000RR. That's why I decided long ago to stick with my '06 ZX-14, near perfect balance of weight, power, comfort and handling prowess.

Can Bus has been used by Kawasaki since the mid-2000s. The ZX14 also uses can bus. The main thing your Harley has that the ZX14 doesn't is factory installed slow.

Ummm, those aren't Harleys. Not a stock part on those bikes. The nitro bikes are awesome to watch, but they're no more representative of Harley than John Force's top fuel funnycar is of what you'll find at your Chevy dealer.

I say don't be dissappointed. As we all know this is a super bike, in the literal sense. Kind of cool their bringing back the MSB/GBG paint scheme like the my bike has although that could be for Euro models since they seem to send differnet paint schemes to different markets every year.

No word on a new Busa at Intermot. This is not good for the hyperbike category.

Intermot is still going on, but I think all the new bike reveals have been done by now.

Keep in mind that the EICMA show is still coming up on November 10th in Italy. Another big show that mfgr's could potentially unveil new products.

-Factory Luggage options a la Ninja 1000
-Adjustable windshield
-Real cruise control
-Built in camera housing for GoPro (or whoever) complete with wiring and storage (no batteries, no memory sticks). I am amazed that no mfg has done this yet.

As expected, minor color combination with some minor graphics. Anyone interested in a new ZX14R should just purchase a leftover from previous years.

Not the 14 but the '17 ZX10RR comes stock with all the race goodies you had to order extra on the '16 10R plus some sweet new options!

Most of what people are asking for are available in the concours of the fjr1300 and would only add weight.

The only thing I'd like is a fused power wire up front and cruise control (ticket control). It has everything but drive by wire to do it.

Concours doesn't have cruise ... and the FJR ... well she has problems in the looks department ... in my humble opinion.

Glad nothing has essentially changed b/c then/hmmm,...I would've been tempted to go to the showroom. :-)
