47mm Throttle Bodies
05/22/13 7:04 AM

I'm thinking of doing this mod to my bike within a couple of weeks. Does anybody have them? I was told to expect around 5 horses at the wheel. My bike has the flies in atm, so they would come out and the bodies would be bored from 44mm to 47mm. I'd throw in a high flow filter and would need a new map for my PCV with flies out map.
Thoughts?

We were just talking about this on some other thread about a week ago....I was going to post this morn but hoped dragking would chime in since he recently spoke to a very well known tuner about the ported T-bdy mod. Hate to speculate but I think the opinion was "not really gonna do much unless you increase engine displacement and mill the head."

I'd PM dragking and Somefun if they dopn't reply here today.

Somefun has done the 47mm T-body bores mod....IDK if he feels it is sufficient to go with this mod alone or if you need the other work I mentioned.

Halfway down page 3 and all of page 4

This is very intriguing to me.....I'm going to keep up on it. I would definitely do all this crap, cams, head, cylinders and T-bodies....If my compression ever ends up low and I need to bore. Under 3K and you will have ya a 14r killa.....but as always, watch out when they do all the same stuff to their motor.

THanks Rook... I'll read up and figure out if it is worth doing...
if not, no sense in dropping 750 bones to do it.
plus the dyno time....and 350 for the custom tune.

Hey guys sorry I was away for work but just saw this... I would agree with Rook if I had not done the head work I don't think you will see much from it. Also the smaller should have better velocity. Don't get me wrong with the head work this girl absolutely rips but with out it I think the bike might be more lazy down low.....

I was talking to Lee about having my TB's bored but he said he had tried 3 different size TB's and none of them went as fast as stock.

Hi guys, I got a question... Is there a cam setup that will work on a gen1 ('11) that doesn't require changing the pistons? Or is the only option the adjustable cam gears? Was looking into doing some head work and possibly doing the bored TB also. Since the head will be off was just seeing what else could be done. Thanks.

I'd want to see figures on performance enhancement with engine work before laying down the bread. Engine building that I hear is worthwhile is tougher internals for boost. All this cam and head work, I just don't hear it works any big miracles. A turbo is going to add a lot more hp and prolly cost about the same.

I will let you guys know how much we gain with basics. My head has a very mild port and mill. all stock internals with stock exhaust cam and a little bigger intake cam, and valve springs.
