Hi all

I bought a set of lowering pegs. They are 30mm drop.

I will have to change position of gear lever, which is easy.

how do I lower the rear brake pedal???

The adjuster is directly behind the peg pivot and below and behind the heel guard.

I can get the required level of adjustment out of brake pedal but how the bloody hell do you adjust the brake light switch?

I have taken the 2 allen head screws out of the plate that holds brake pedal, master cylinder and brake light switch but still not enough room to get spanner in there.

Ideas?

1. A 17mm spanner is used to spin the body screw nut, as you hold the body as you spin. Looking down at the switch, move the nut clockwise so the body comes down. Vise verse for the reverse to raise the switch. I had it right the first time. Seen your moment so figure it out as you watch it spin.
2. The 17mm nut is a PITA to turn. Pull switch unit out of the bracket holder; hold the body and spin the 17mm nut and then retest. Yank the switch back out again for finer adjustments, etc.
3. Remove brake switch wire from main harness. Hold brake switch wire at 12 o'clock high [no kinks or twists in other words] and spin body as you hold the 17mm nut in place.

the nut wouldn't turn but body of switch did it appeared.

Hi guys, followed Hubs instructions in part. Seemed to get the desired result. Only problem was, I didn't read the part about the brake light switch. So, after feeling pretty chuffed at kicking another goal, I went in to watch some TV. I came out sometime later to find my bike would not start, it had a drained battery. Still some power but not enough to start the bike.

So after reading Hub's post again, I adjusted the brake light switch in the way Hub described. Put it all back together and then adjusted the brake level until the brake light went out and then another turn more and only came on when applied. I would like a little more, but it's much better.

Could this have been what drained my battery?

Also, I adjusted the gear lever down a little, no issue here although when turned off, I couldn't get the bike into second gear. Is this normal. I've never really had cause to try it in my short time with the bike. Riding it, it seemed to change gears fine.

I am having a little paranoia and everything is probably ok.

I Don't have a gen2.

Gen 1 is normal to not be able to shift with engine off. N-1, 1-N, only. You might be able to get it to shift if you roll it across the floor a few inches--I can't remember.

You mean to say "brake LEVER" or Pedal? "Level" makes me think of brake fluid. I think having the brake pedal sensor too tight could have drained your battery but only if the key was left on. Key off, IDT the brake light works. Maybe you had the key on for a long time while you were adjusting the sensor?

Thanks on the gear change thing. Like I said, I've done everything on cars mechanically but just learning bikes, so a lottery paranoia kicks in at times!

I can only guess the brake LEVER adjustment was the issue. There was none before hand.
