Hi guys, does anyone run their ZX14R in a city commute setting? How's the heat and riding position for urban riding? I'm here in Hong Kong (Canadian moved here for 7 years and still getting used to the humid summers) and about to sell my Vstrom 1000 for a new sport tourer this winter (I had a VFR before the Vstrom).
Looking at the ZX14R or the Concours 14; read the other gentleman's post about ZX14R or Concours but they were comparing both for highway touring. I'll be doing 100km commute days with 80% highway and then 20% slogging through traffic (up to 30mins at a time slipping the clutch inching 2 ft forward through line ups to cross the harbor tunnels....). One of the reasons why I sold the VFR was the heat; it literally scalded my thighs in the summer with the coolant temp regularly reaching 112 degrees Celcius with the fans going. What interested me about the Concours was the fact they specifically addressed the heat issue in 2010. Did they do the same thing for the ZX14R? The thing against the Concours in my decision was its size.... and that 200 horsepower thing keeps ringing in my ears, it's a crazy balance to my sensible drab dark grey Honda Accord I use for the family =)
Appreciate your feedback guys!
