@hub........how old is that helmet cuz both my new RS-1 helmet & transition shield fit & finish r perfect. And as far as changing the shield it takes 30sec but u no longer have to do that wit there new t-shield.
The only reason I bought mine was cuz of all the good reviews it had on RevZilla. And i have to agree with them, I have zero negative to say about it.

I was gonna start a thread about this helmet when I ran across this thread. I've always ended up with HJCs for some reason but now that I'm gonna do more cruising than flying (I still have the Katana in the garage!) I want something a bit less clunky and sloppy. My recently retired HJC FS-15 quickly got too big on my head after I bought like they all do, padding compressing. So I'm thinking of trying this out.
I've never been a big fan of Bell's helmet profile but this one caught my eye as a real aggressive one but with a lot of features that could make it handy riding my HD too.
If anyone has any experience with it lemme know. It'll also take that photochromic lens but I'm not sure if I'm willing to take a chance on a $120 shield going dark enough for me. I usually like mirrored shields so I can make silly faces at people and they don't notice.
$199 doesn't seem bad

Last night as a matter of fact; guy at the shop compliments my helmet. Seems he is a Bell fan. Pulls his helmet out, I pick it up and shewow, ounces lighter! Before his helmet came out, I was bagging on the shield release. He swings the helmet to the side and I about drop they have a better mouse trap.
Then the big surprise. He goes, this is the see at night shield. Here I'm trying to aim it at a light but no way. It was a flat out clear shield. He said the sun will only trigger it so it's pretty high techeck impressive. Heck, you buy a clear and dark shield and use the sun-blocker on occasions you know you'll be running late.
This way, with the darker shield, you have your jaw out the bottom of the helmet gulping for oxygen. You just look like Jay Leno from the chin strap up.

@ edgecrusher.......I almost bought that helmet, but got the RS-1 instead. But it has a lot of kool features and the price is sweet! I have the shield & it's dark smoke, I believe it should be dark enough for "faces".......haha!
Best of luck!

I bought two Bells; silver and flat black. Couldn't pass up the price. Bought extra shields. No doubt it was a discontinued model on sale. Instructions say to flip the shield fully. Found out that was not the case. The tape was the place; on click down.
Yes, I know they bought out Bell. I was sponsored by Bell a long time ago. Had a rep setup/service my helmet like they do now. It was pretty cool. Thing is, I don't remember the race. It was a biggie if they came out to service the ones they sponsored.
I'm just saying, I'm not impressed with that release design I have at any price.
