high frequents Vibrations ZX14R 12'
08/12/12 5:16 AM

Hi everyone

i am very new to this forum but not new to Kawasaki at all. ZZR14 12' is my second ever Kawasaki.(my first Kawasaki was GTR 1400 1::0'):: I bought her two months ago her break in period is finish, first service is done. Shifting is perfect, brakes are perfect everything on the bike is working very well. she has just 1100 miles on the clock. Now this is my questions to you all.

after the service and oil change i started to feel high frequents vibrations on my hands and in between my legs, its all happens 3500 -6000 rpm. I took it back to the dealer and they said it must be the crash protectors they re torque it to 59 n.m. and it was still vibrating. I go back to Kawasaki again but this time i took out my crash protectors and re torque the engine mountings by my self. This time i book a test ride on their Kawasaki demo of Zzr14 12' and ride it really hard! NO vibrations at all! So finally i told the dealer that my bike got vibrations and if you sit on it and rev you will find it out! They sadly said that they can't find anything wrong with it. Well because the dealer guy is my kind of friend he said when i come back next week to install yoshi's they will just re torque all the mountings again and also i will DYNO the bike.

Is any of you notice a vibration ? This vibrations is Kawasaki's main problem all of their bikes got vibrations the reason i sold my GTR 2010 model was the vibrations too. and please don't write that i am holding the bars too tight cause that is ridicules.

these are the bikes i used before HD sportster,Fazer600,suzuki burgman 650,Kawasaki gtr 1400 2010,Ducati Diavel carbon, ducati 796 supermoto, currently Kawasaki zzr1400 12'. So as you see i kind of know how is the vibrations feels like.

Thank you all!

Mine had the vibrations also, but once I installed Ivan's ECU the vibrations went away.... Once you start "modding" them (pipe, PCV with map, gearing, etc), they seem to buzz a little more.

Dont let them do any mods to it untill you are happy with the bike. The guy is trying to throw up a smoke screen. Keep returning it to the dealer for high vibrations. If it is not fixed after the third time declare it a lemon and demand a new bike!

To much to list!

I Don,t know if it,s when you do mods to the 14R engine but mine is smooth as silk & stock!, but when I did changes to the exhaust and maps 0n my 2010ZX1400 it changed from the smooth bike to feeling not so refined same as when I changed my 04 CBR1100xx ,my dad always said manufactures design to the best allround ride for rideability to cover most but not all situations and if you gain in some areas you lose in others, & from my own personal experiances in the last decade I belive to me he is right

I've noticed a small "vibration\unsmoothness" since I installed my pipe,PC V, and removed the flies. I was just wondering how my people that are experiancing this have their flies removed? anyone with flies still in having issues?

All in fun Kruzrman...all in fun.Mine runs VERY smooth...I do think after modding..there 'may' be a teensy bit more 'edgyness' to her...but it's still WAY smooth.Certain gears and rpms...you can't even feel it's running.No...the 'honeymoon's' not over by any means. This bike is way cool. The vibe thing could be compared to adding a 43/16 to an earlier bike...but not as vibey even as that.VERY subtle.I don't have my secondaries in either...that could affect her a tad.IDK.

I know when I'm entering triple digits, and rolling...the faster I go...the more rpms I'm making...the smoother she gets....if that means anything? At 190...she was solid and stable and vibe free...I could look in the rear views and still see behind me okay.

Mine's the same way, tuck into that little pocket of dead air behind the screen and pin it, 190 feels just like being in an F-16 except you ain't havin to burn 2000 lbs of fuel an hour...yahoo!

Hey Grn14, you have violated the first rule of Italian driving! "Whatsa behind you, does notta matter!"

Why R you lookin' in your mirrors at 190? Scenery no good ahead of you? Tired of the frontal tunnel vision at that speed? Don't wanta' see the indigenous life forms venturing out across the road ahead? Looking for a police Bugatti Gran Sport rocketing up on you from behind?

Just curious...........

Stock mine was more smooth, with pipe & PCV it was less smooth. Once I put Ivan's ECU flash & map in it, was as smooth as stock... Very enjoyable to ride for long distances now. Going to NH this weekend & back to NY on Saturday ;-)

No vibe except "hauls ass beyond high expectations." Beloved CBR had vibes that limited enjoyable rides to about 150 miles. A couple 300 milers on the new 14r - no vibrations, no problems. Counterbalencers rock. Must confess, I haven't screwed up the extensive, sophisticated factory R@D with any expensive, unintegrated quests for marginally more haul ass. My only mods are grip puppies and a Kaoka throttle lock.

Sa'll good...she's way cool without the other stuff for sure.I've still got all my original things here....it wouldn't be a bad decision to return to full stock at all.I might...sometime.Losing the weight from the pipes though...that's a hard one to go the other way with;)

My 2012 14r vibrates 4500-6500 especially light throttle in gears 3-4-5 , get off the gas it goes away , light throttle comes back again , adjusted rear balance shaft took half a turn and it got slightly better , bringing to the dealer, 30 yr mechanic and I usually bring nothing to dealer , I trust nobody but me, looking forward to hearing we can't find anything wrong, it ain't right . 2010 didn't vibe, anybody else?

If you want a bike with no vibration get a 6 cyl Goldwing. Every 4 cyl bike I've ever ridden vibed to a degree. Much higher frequency and buzzy than a twin like the Duke I ran for a while.
