So I'm almost needing a new set of tires for the 14r. I know Dunlop just came out with the Q3+ (I'm told it will be on sale in May) I am curious to check them out, but what does everyone else ride on, and how do you like them?

I've been on Mich PP 2CT on my '06 and '14, taken it easy on this set and with 3300 miles lots of meat on the rear. Usually on aggressive drive they are toasted around 3500. When these are toasted gonna give the Pirelli SuperCorsa Bada Bing SP a try. Buy I ride mostly twisty mountain roads and no wet at all, if its cloudy we dont ride, just wait until tomorrow

My notes on the tires I've tried on my 2013 ZX-14R:

Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact (stock) - Shit tires, no feel, poor grip wet or dry, rear lasted about 4K kilometers only

Pirelli Diablo Rosso II - Ok tires, very good grip dry, average grip wet, rear lasted about 4.5K km, but tire grip performance drops significantly last 500 km or so of its life, replace when tire wear markers show because the tire will go flat

Pirelli Angel GT - good tires, good grip dry (almost as good as Diablo Rosso II), good grip wet, rear lasted about 6.5K km, consistent performance all throughout its lifetime, replace when tire wear markers show because the tire will go flat same as Diablo Rosso II

Pirelli Diablo Rosso III - my current tires, very aggressive and tall profile, I had zero chicken strips on the DR2 and the Angel GT but have 1-inch chicken strips on these tires same roads, same riding style. You have to run them at lower PSI than the previous tires (I now use 36 psi) otherwise they are very skittish and lack stability. Excellent grip dry. Have not tried them in the wet yet. First pair so I don't know mileage yet.

I use 120/70 and 190/55 (except for the stock tires which were 190/50 rear).

Pirelli Super Corsas. I love the Superbike Slicks too and use them for street riding. No problem in warm weather.

just 2 days ago I replaced the crap stock bridgestones with pilot power 2ct , this is my 3rd zx14 and its the only tire I ever run. the grip is great even in the rain, the most I ever get out of the rear is about 3200 miles, front about 5000, got them from dennis kirk 261.00 for the set to my door, was the best price I could find. they are just great tires in my opinion.

How about the longest lasting? Pilot Road 4 maybe?

Thansk for all the feedback! I used to run the Michelin PP on my R1 and I loved them, but that was 2012. Glad people still like them.

Have had M5s (OE), Q3s, M7RRs, Rosso IIs, and S20 Evos. Rosso IIs were great, and I like M7RRs. Q3s were great but had the lowest mileage. S20s were OK but dangerous the last few hundred miles (1000?) and muddy feeling feedback IMO.

I'd liek to try Rosso IIIs as my next set of tires but still have a set of M7RRs and Q3s in the "warehouse".

Ultra conservative rider here, I've got 7969 miles on front RP4 and 5762 miles on rear RP4. I travel mostly loaded.
I have 4/32" tread depth front and 5/32" rear. I forgot to measure new tread depth. Plenty of tread front and back for another 4000 miles.

Tire profile difference between Pirelli Diablo Rosso III and Pirelli Angel GT. Both 190/55ZR17 rears, mounted on my 2013 ZX-14R.

am often doing long distance touring and went for Metzeler RoadTec 01
the great reviews found online and in the press seem to be right... am happy so far!

Pilot road 4 GT are very nice.

I have the PR4 GTs and really like them, but don't like the look of the tread pattern ... too busy. The PR3 is way cooler lookin'! Seriously.

I have been using the combo of a sticky Michelin Pilot Power 3 on the front, and the Pilot Road 4 GT (190/55) on the rear for both my 2006 ZX14 and my 2013 ZX14R. Love them, get about 6-7k out of the rears and a bit more from the front.

Why the difference (3 front, 4 rear)?

I realize that I am giving up some (very minimal) traction with the PR4 tire, but I want to make sure my front tire stays planted...I am ok with some squirming on the rear under very heavy throttle. Would probably be 1000% fine using the PR4 on the front too. I am not light (285lbs), and I like to take corners at a pretty good clip, and this combo works really well for me.

Keep in mind you're comparing most ikely thrashed Q3s to brand new tires. Of course there's going to be a night and day difference, just make sure you're comparing these new to when your Q3s were new.

I likr the tread pattern, nearly slicks. Probably not great for wet but who cares unless youre a WWR.

Looks like an interesting set of tires. I've always thought Michelin made good tires, but none have seemed to appeal to me as a better selection than other brands/options.

But I'd think about trying these. Seem reasonably priced. It's difficult to accept they're overall a better performance tire tahn Q3s though, who even after now being out a handful of years often top everything but Supercorsas.

I look forward to seeing the mileage you get out of them and what they look like at the end.

Just put on a set of Bridgestone S21's. So far they are the best tires I've had on my 14R. I ride extremely hard and have never gotten more than 1500 miles out of any rears.

I am really impressed with the S21. I've not had them "yet" on the 14 but
have a set on my ZX10 track bike and they are a really, really good tire.

If I like them on the 14 would be great, then I can just keep a couple
of sets around and throw them on when I need to.

I've been reading some reviews that on heavy bikes like the 14R the S21 go squirrely at ~2000 mile and some are saying they become dangerous? IDK, would like to give them a try at their price point compared to the bada bings supa dupa corsa SP

my Bridgestone stock S20's were history a bit over 2,000 miles...
i reckon they are designed for japanese road conditions... the indonesian asphalt here is hot and abrasive

Personally, for the type of riding I do, I want the longest lasting tire, and the cost does not matter.

S20 and S21 are two different tires.
