The spare parts fairy is coming!!!
08/08/13 11:53 PM

Just came into a bit of cash recently and I have sent out across the world, invitations to the spare parts fairies to come to my house with presents.
On my present list is:
Full carbon Yoshimura dual slip-ons,
ZG DB dark smoke screen,
Clear Alternatives tinted lenses all round with chrome globes to suit,
Woolich Racing full bench and on-bike ECU set-up,
Rascal Grafik black & silver ZX14 tank protector,
M-Factory black billet rider foot-pegs,
Monster Energy brake and clutch reservoir covers,
Personalised number plate.
I'll also be fitting clear urethane film to several vulnerable areas of the body.
This f'ing missile of mine is in for a serious attitude adjustment, a diet, and a cosmetic make-over. I think it's cherry will be well and truly popped!
GOD i just LOOOOOOVE it when you know the spare parts fairies are coming to your house.

Thanks for your suggestions about the Akras. I'd thought about them too, just couldn't decide if there was a substantial gain. Tell me.... what does the Akra header do that the stock one falls short of? Are they really worth it in performance or delivery gains? I just might get them too if i can qualify it. Was thinking if I go down that path, I might get them ceramic coated too. I did that on my 07 and they just stayed soooo nice looking. What's your thoughts and opinions guys?

Well sweet, that Akrapovic header is pretty fuckin gorgeous! It has larger and more well shaped and more smoothly flowed tubes than stock. Akrapovic builds their parts with liquid flow dynamics as a principle tool. In other words, they will give a much higher and smoother exit path translating into a very healthy top end. Taking FULL advantage of that extra 500 rpm from the ecu flash and MAXIMIZING the horsepower and torque of this big stroker motor. You will see maximum gains. As for ceramic coating them, are you somehow related to the Wolfman and I sir??? I think that's always a great idea. Passes a little extra heat downstream faster, resists wear and is impervious to corrosion. And pick a color! I think not only is your plan a sound one, but one that will lead you to name yourself a Sith Lord along with Darth Bean! :)))) just one guys opinion.

Ahhhh, Cblast! You're a man after my own heart. Every 2nd post of yours I read results in a little chuckle and a sly grin. I just might be related as a kindred spirit maybe. I loved the effect and temp gains the ceramic gave me on the 07. Once I had the silver ceramic done, it was pretty much goodbye to having to polish the stockers and they always looked great. A little bit of alloy polish every now and then, and they come up like polished alloy.
I take everything you said about the Akra's. It sounds like they may find it's way onto my present list for the spare parts fairy to bring me. Just have to find a decent price on them. Any suggestions? Do they make a big difference in volume over the stockers and Yoshi slip ons? I love a bike that's just a LITTLE understated. Go for that "sleeper" bike. Like when you don't really hear it until you feel the percussion wake as it goes past you top note. lmfao

Hey Sweet,
I have the same setup as Wolf, but my cans are SS. The sound is great... I mean it I love the way they sound. My complaint is that they are not loud enough for my taste. Don't get me wrong I don't want Harley straight pipes loud either but just a little more. (the sound of headers will enhance the slip-on's)

I think you will be very happy with the volume. With that said, they are def louder than stock. The low end rumble I REALLY like.

I was going to PC my akra's but I had an issue of immense proportions... you see, I just couldn't wait ;-p

I got mine HERE

Also, since you come from the home of "Men at Work" shipping my not make it worth your while from the US. If you do get the Akra's, make sure to tell them to include the BUNG HOLE PLUG. (man that never gets old)... If you don't you will have a gaping hole (Oh look I did it again) in your exhaust (Ok, now its too easy) unless you have an O2 sensor to cram in it. (GOD how am I?? LOL)

Thanks for the share Wolf. Great pics.
Thanks too Omega.

BTW Heel Guards looking ... sweetly invisible bro. :)

Planning on sending a bunch of my gear for some satin black powder soon too. Seems like a few of us are on the same page. I had a little too much hand polished gear on my 07. Time to inject a little darkness to make the green highlights POP. Then will be stripping and polishing the wheels to make them jump out at you too.
Hmmm, you've just about got me convinced to go the headers too. I just don't want it to get loud. My 07 had Staintune stainless slips that had a nice volume with the baffles in, they were just a bit tinny.

Omega numbers don't win races, pilots do!

Sweeeeet!! I take it then that pilots with good numbers are having a friggin ball???
Thanks omega. I'm definitely not out to compete on the forum. It's all about the ride for me. I just have this un-tapped animal of a bike just begging for the chance to hold my attention. Something tactile, not numerical.
C'mon now guys. Cut it out. It's just cost me another wad to get the Akras on their way now too. More Power Racing were pretty fair with pricing & shipping to Aus. Yeah, I'm a sucker for a good time.
I really can't wait to see and feel the improvements in going "all out". I haven't done performance headers as well as slips before. As long as my smile just keeps getting bigger, I'll be happy. That was the whole idea in getting this bike.
PLEASE..... don't tell me all about the improvements a nitrous turbo system will add to my bike. It's unfair to play on the weakness of wrenchers and tinkerers.
Can someone please fill me in with the tuning requirements for fitting the headers and slips? I've got the Woolich ECU system coming, but I don't really have a clue how I'm going to go about getting a decent flash tune going to match the mods. I've got so much to learn about the tuning side.
Can some of the tuners please chime in and help me out.
