Flash Update
06/03/14 5:59 PM

Well...I have to say that Cblast's flash update has really kinda blown me away....this bird in first just lofts SO EASY....it's pretty incredible. It would for sure flip if a guy wasn't being very careful on his wrist. But she lifts as if the bike weighs nothing at all...geez....best performance I've ever had.The pull climbing the rpm scale is really amazing....as he promised;)I lowered my front end by approx.1/2 inch...the turn in is now up to par with this flash. It's truly awesome...way more than I would have imagined. And I haven't really opened her up yet....traffic....Highway patrol...BUT...it's real kick to ride....very nice...power builds quick going up through the gears....I had to restrain myself...God knows HOW fast this baby will do;)She's way more strong ....this flash is the ultimate IMO...I truly think she'll climb on up to 200 now very easily....we'll see...at a later date....Thank You C for the kick ass ride quality and Performance....Fuel mileage was quite stunning as well...and engine temps.Very good....

PS...NOW anyone with this flash need be cautious of the way their bike runs ....exhilarating!!!!More to follow....

Feels like a differnt bike doesn't it :) It so smooth, but deceptive .....

Second gear rollon wheelies with ease, but yea, don't wack the throttle hard in first,
Or your going over ! Third pulls like NEVER before, and there is power and torque
EVERYWHERE, even in 5th and 6th cruising ......

And now with my new Tires, it's even better ! The way the power is delivered coming out of
Corners, it feels like a lighter bike, I don't know how to explain that ......

I swear I got light headed today from the acceleration ! No joke !

Thanks again C, for an awesome flash !!

How is the difference in altitude effecting these tunes? Since there made in a specific area I would think the creators bike bike would outperform whoever he sells it too?
Or I'm a wrong?

Can't wait to have mine done!!!! However it runs pretty damn good with no tune and full exhaust has a slight bog down low but the high rpms seem no different than stock!!

As of now....I definitely feel greater torque and HP....gonna get her dynoed here pretty soon...I can sure feel a BIG difference....and I'm at 5K feet.I think heading down near sea level is REALLY gonna rip;)It really has awakened my baby than C's first flash....very strong...and his first one was kickass...this update is much more tuned for torque and power. The midrange just continues to pull hard....I'm VERY happy;)

If Ricky Gadsen said "the feeling is not unlike an f16 taking off"....with his stock bike....he needs to run THIS flash;)The 'lightheadedness'?Oh yeah....Brock's can't compare to the kick this flash has!I'll have to get up to speed with my second gear lofts....

Do I only need to remove the seat to access the ECU. Is it as simple as unplugging the ECU and pulling it out?

Remove the seat, loosen the 4 bolts holding the tool box, slide it forward, and its yours for the taking. There are two boxes in one rubber housing. It's the one with two plugs.

You need to undo the negative on the battery first before removal as well.

Only takes a minute. Better safe than sorry, I say!

The Cblast flash is pretty amazing, even with the stock exhaust. I was merging onto the freeway and ran it up to 100 mph before I even realized I was going that fast. Pretty incredible!

There's no reason not to do it, IMO. The flash is how the bike should feel off the showroom floor.

I don't understand? Why pull the battery ground off....when the key is actually off?The Can continues to store all info....Separate from the ECU.Key off...no juice flowing to that ecu.NONE.?????Is this procedure listed in the shop manual?I've taken several ECU's out on my 14's over the years...never had an issue. I even tried to start her once without an ECU in there...she cranked fine....but no needle sweep and no fuel pump operation.... "Better safe than sorry, I say!"...not trying to be a smart ass here...BUT...'safe' from what?

14 FMS says on page 3-91:
1. Remove seat
2. Remove tool box
3. Remove ECU from connectors

No mention of (see Battery) as the search sent me to (see ECU removal) in that chapter. I too have removed the ECU to hook up the flash box in the computer room. No battery post was removed or needs to be disconnected for a code? Either the code is planted or it turns off when the needle swings and everyone is pinged within spec are there no codes present. It's all automatic when the preset looks at parameters on the key on signal.

While I dont know for a fact on the 14, I have worked on vehicles for over 20 years, and all ecm's have a power constant going to them. Unhooking the computer isnt the problem with the battery connected, its when you hook it back up is when there is a potential problem. You know that little spark that you see when you reconnect a battery terminal? That same spark is created at the ecu when you reconnect it. You dont want that to happen because it can burn circuits inside it. It has happened to a few people I know. Anytime you do any work that involves the engine or major electrical, pull the battery negative.

Brn = Terminal 33 key off = No power
W/blk = Terminal 15 = Constant power
Brn = Terminal 33 key on = Power

So, key off the volatile is saved. = Pull ECU
So, key off there is no ground to spike = Install ECU, right?
So, key on there is what? = A spike at the key switch, right?
So, key switch burns up in ford's electric cars and that recall, right?
So, on/off is spike no matter watt, yes?

Correct hub, as long as that constant doesn't have a path to ground all will be fine. Pulling the ground for me is like wearing a seat belt. You may need it, you may not. I won't chance it.

Thanks JT! We had discussed your plan to wait a bit before switching exhausts out, so I did drill it down and test her out a bit thataway. I have to leave the decorative bits off because of my rearsets, but here is Priscilla all decked out with a stock exhaust. She runs great but wayyyy too quiet! I wanna HEAR that state of tune! I will say, I was very pleasantly surprised at her strength and torque even with the big fun killer cans! Lots of grunt everywhere and no one even notices ur ripping along on one wheel!

I know, she looks gross right?
