Hate to break this to you fellas but here goes.
You have been spending too much for coolant.
Engine Ice is merely premixed Propylene Gylcol in a very fancy package.Roughly $20 for 1/2 gallon
You can get twice as much Propylene Gylcol at half the price by using Preston Low Tox. About $10 a gallon !
It is also Propylene but not premixed. So you with have to get some distilled water ($1-2) and mix it yourself.
Now you have 2 gallons of coolant that has corrosive inhibitors and claims to run 10 degrees cooler (50/50 mix) than Engine Ice claims!!!
Havent noticed a bit of difference between the 2 in my 22,000 mile 06 that runs hot due to a Cox radiator screen and probably a custom map that runs a bit rich.
Dont feel bad though. I have a half jug of Engine Ice on the shelf to remind Me of my snake oil purchase.
Engine Ice isnt for racing. Water is. Propylene is still slick stuff and not allowed on RR tracks I believe.
Dirt Bike did extensive coolant tests a couple of years ago.
The coolest was water with a wetting agent (Water wetter etc.)
Proylene ran cooler than Ethylene Gylcol though.
