Decided I had too much money in my accounts so decided to remedy that and get a boat.
Only small but nice to use on our amazing large lake.

Very nice choice, trail boats are a great option and the way to go Yannih. I sold a great Starcraft trail boat and bought the big sport fisher in the water. Was fun for a long time but 0.5 mpg got old at marina gas prices. A pair of 454 cu in Crusaders were thirsty, I would use the entire fuel load of 300 gal in a long weekend at Santa Catalina Island

Nice crude.
Beautiful boat.
When I was a teenager my Dad had a game fishing boat which I fished on weekends with him for 7 years.
My game fishing days are now well and truly over.
And I never really got over sea sickness...
The boat had twin diesel engines and now whenever I smell a trucks diesel exhaust I still get the pangs of sea sickness!
I have always had boats in Sydney harbour when I lived there and I always found the 19-21ft inboards / outboards affordable, practical and fun.
Cruising, skiing, wake boarding then up on the sand at a local beer garden.
Decided to get one here in Queenstown.
Took a while to find the right one at the right price but all good now.
Needs a little work but only astetically as the running gear is great.
I know it will sit around and I won't use it as much as I would like to but its there if I want it...

Hahaha...
You be the judge if this is a good thing or not.
Was working on the boat today and checking all the operating systems again.
All good until I noted a switch on the dash I had missed.
Flicked it and...
Switched off...

After doing a fair bit of work on the boat over the last 3 days, maiden voyage time.
Conclusion.
Purrs like a pussycat and goes like the wind.
45mph and only reving to 4000rpm at wot. Should be 4600rpm at top speed so adjusted the prop pitch
(-4 degrees) when the boat was back on the trailer for next time.
Should see better performance next outing.
Its a very good thing and I'm very happy.
Seems its a solid buy.
Great to be back out on the water...

Man, we've been getting out on this thing heaps.
The wife, the dog and I love it!
And all of a sudden I have more friends!
Not sure if it surpasses the enjoyment my 14 has and still gives me but still a great investment.
If you ever wanted a boat and haven't taken the plunge yet, do it.
Just be prepared for the odd dollar to be spent, even on small versions like mine...

Looks like a beautiful ride but cold roads aint my thing. It would be cool to do a bike trip somewhere scenic like that though. If I were there, I'd do it! There must be some crazy twisties at lower altitude.
