I'm going to order a set of S20 Evos today... with rebate too good of a deal to pass up and I don't think I can make it the rest of this season on my M7RRs. I imagine I'll end up getting somewhere around 3000-3500 out of them based on my experience witht he Q3s and M7RRs.

Just decided to stop analyzing & pull the trigger.

Bought a set of Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT's (190/50ZR-17 & 120/70ZR-17) from jakewilson.com for $327.86 total ($6 cheaper than last time I looked; seems like tire prices move every day)

Almost $100 more than the Bridgestone S20 Evo, but I've never read so many universally happy reviews on a tire than I find about the PR4GT. Hopefully they'll last longer enough to justify (some of) the add'l cost

Yep that's pretty much how I look at it, although I don't want to sacrifice too much grip. I looked into T30s a bit more, and seems like they'd probably drop the grip level a little too far. PR4s have a great rep though, people complaining about T30s seem to not have the same grip issue with PR4s. PR4s definitely on my "to do" list, but I'd like to wait until there's a rebate or something. $330 is a good price on them from what I've seen.

I ordered from BikeBandit $239 shipped (MM was $265), then will get the $50 rebate. I ordered a 55 too, so that'll be new to me. When I get the 55 here, I'm gonna compare it to my 50 Q3. If it doesn't look much different I might order a 50 S20 Evo (another set) and do a for real side by side comparison. If it's entirely obvious that the 55's tread profile is different I might order another 55 set. My theory is that the difference between 50s and 55s isn't what people think it is, but I could be wrong. But how many people buy two sets and can put them side by side to compare? Comparing old shoes to the feel of new ones is about as butt dyno bullshit as it gets.
