Hey Kruz, First of all, I've got to hand it to you; this is a great thread topic. Second, if all goes well I'll be posting a pic of an H2 that should be mine in the next few days. I hadn't even ridden one for 30 years but after taking out a restored beauty the other day I plopped down a deposit. Too much motor for a spaghetti like frame and crappy shocks made it invigorating......can't wait. And I'll post a pic the second I get it.
Post that bad boy Jay and the rest of you guys get off your duffle bags, get out in the garage and start taking some pics.
This is kinda cool to see what everybody is riding.

That's ugly bro, any word on what caused the rod failure? Oil on the tire at 135 mph, that would be an epiphany for most of us!

There's some blueing on the crank, which suggests it was starved for oil. It had started to burn a little oil, but I'd checked it just before that ride and added about a 1/4 quart to bring it between the high and low mark on the window.
So really, I don't know.
As far a an apiphany... don't break in a new bike by mother Kawi's book... It is way to easy, the rings won't seat properly and the bike wil burn oil. I'm breakin' 'em in like I'm gonna ride 'em from now on. HARD.

I think it was the wheelies Dogo..I hear you're kind of a hooligan!
All kidding aside I think you're right, mine seems to be using some oil and I broke her in by the book. Next one, I'm going to run the dog snot out of it from the git go!
An easy break in will not affect your bearings, just oil consumption if you glaze the barrels. Mine may be leaking oil from the valve covers, I can smell it burning but can't see any yet.

I needed to add almost 1/4 quart every 1000 miles on the last two oil changes. It doesn't seem like I had that much of a loss of oil before removing flies. It's not leaking, I don't know if it's burning but I do see an oil film on the bottle at the end of the airbox drain tube. Under which conditions it drains, I have no clue because it apparently only does it a small amount at a time while running down the road. No oil spots under the parked bike at all. I'm not so worried about it but it will be a bit of a PITA if I go on a really long trip. I'll be doing a high rev break in next time, too.

Thanks Matsuke, no mansion though, I shot those pics behind my neighbor's house, I thought the trees looked kinda cool!

I stand corrected, I saw Chuck was from Ohio and made an assumption.
