Did it last night. The 72 hour curing wait sucks. :)

Looks good... is that permanent?

Let us know if it makes it hard to slide around on the bike

It is totally clear. Granted, you don't get the "wow" factor as much as you do bare paint, but it's a tradeoff.

There are some tiny bubbles in it, but those are all but impossible to prevent.

The adhesive is very thick, and not completely smooth as you separate it from the backing and smooth it out. Lots of mashing with your thumb and shooting with a heat gun will minimize them, but I don't know of anyone that has gotten these on there without the tiny bubbles. From a short distance, you can't even see them.

No, it isn't permanent. Think of them as a giant, very sticky, very gooey sticker.

I have never actually tried to remove a set before, so I don't know how much residue they leave behind. Nothing a little goo-gone can't handle, I'm told.

I have used them on other bikes. They help you grip the tank with your knees while cornering and braking. They also have the added effect of protecting the paint where your knees rub.
