I was riding back from one of my favorite canyons Thursday, and I look in my mirror and see a motorcycle cop, so I slowed down to the speed limit (since I just got a ticket not too long ago) and he goes past me, and waves at me to ride with him for a while, well we hit the freeway, and he speed off and started going at speeds over 100, and I followed him for about 10 miles, just didn't pass him, this is a true story, kinda restores my faith a little after that other cop gave me a ticket !!

Yea Rook, it was the first time in over 30 years of riding that something like that happened, probably NEVER happen again !!!

I think the reason he did it, was because the bike looked to be a brand new BMW police bike and I don't remember seeing a license plate on it in the rear ...

I rode in formation with four gold top Ontario Provincial Police bikes exceeding the limit by 200 km. They invited me to join em and I hung with them for 100km. What a cool lot!

Exceeding by 20 km!!! Not 200.

I have been stopped by CHP moto cops maybe 3 times while I was on my bike, and in all 3 cases, no tickets. The opposite is true in my car.

I did have one occasion where (also CHP) a moto cop came up beside me, and we ended up riding side by side in the same lane for a few miles. Never knew what that was all about as he punched it and made the nearest exit.

What was he riding?

CHP runs the BMW bikes.

I agree, there are plenty cool ones. Definately some a-holes but I run across more cool ones than jerks.

Well, I have been pulled over MANY time in my life! and have always been cool to the cop, only ONCE did I not get a ticket, and that was a very minor thing, just my luck I guess .....

And while there are SOME cool cops, most of the ones I have met, have been outright Aholes, or had that "attitude"

The one that just gave me the ticket, was a motorcycle cop, he was sitting in the middle of an alley, just waiting to hit someone with his instant on lazer, he could have given me a break, since no one was around me, and I was slowing down, BUT NO !!!

I hate it when they are just sitting there waiting to nail someone that isn't endangering anyone, he wrote me up for going over the "safe" speed limit by 10 MPH ! Go catch some criminals, or at least ticket these idiots that are weaving in and put of traffic at high speeds, or those asshole cagers that cut everyone off !

Ok I through with my rant, but this latest ticket cost me $300, and I still have to pay/go to traffic school ...

I'm with Carabuser. I am ALWAYS polite to the popo but it never fails that I have to listen to a "I scraped a guy like you off the road last week" lecture while I ma getting a ticket. Even been pulled over out of the slow lane and ticketed for speeding, this with 3 other lanes of traffic passing ME. I personally know several cops and it just seems that over time they develop an " all civilians are assholes" attitude. I can sympathize that they see the worst in human nature but I just wish they wouldn't take it out on me.
