Tell ya the truth Hubster...I NEVER get any competition...well...okay....one time(maybe two).Ya...they couldn't hang Definitely don't see that changing with my new Baby!I'm tryin to do this thing right this time around.Gonna install some CF BST's w/ceramic bearings(you heard anything about ceramic bearings?Their service life and such?)Puttin a full Brock's CT dual system in as well(carbon Fiber muffler(s).Powercommander...yup.Amazing how much ya can learn owning a bike like the 14....you know...lots of hands on experiences with my precious 07.Gonna do some things different this time. For one thing....probably leave the TOP end runs out of the mix.Just because.(who am I kidding...sheesh...I know I'm gonna have to run er up at least ONCE )I wish it were possible...seriously...I mean this....for each one of you guys to take er for a spin.Just to see what ya think.I know...aint gonna happen...but still....
I'm assuming here that the rear wheel is 6" wide, yes? That's what I'd want for the replacement,right?6 by whatever.

Blue07 well that's gotta be Green012 now me thinks, well done, I'm just a little jealous, I may not speak to you from now on as your upper class and all that.
Will be great ride for sure, has the blue one gone in , are you still riding it or are you walking.
Hub have a friend with a 2011 1000rr BMW with 10,000klm on the clock and engine stripped down, total top end failure, camshafts warn out there bearing mounts and totaled the head, now of others with con rods out the block all from over revving the thing ????
2012 may need a can or two, but she looks sweet, congrats blue

Dealer gave me 4 grand.Me happy....didn't expect any more than that. Thanks Shogun....review?...u know I will.
Thanks Ethin...geez man...don't stop talkin to me...that'd be a bummer big time. The Blue07...takin her in Tuesday...last ride .Gonna feel strange....sayin goodby and all to her.She never let me down...not once....nothin but good times on my Blue.51,000 miles and runnin better than the day I bought her. That's pretty amazing I think.
I'm just fortunate to be able to do any of this.I never planned on going this direction in my life.It kinda just happened.Certainly nothing I really did.Truth is...I should have been dead a long time ago....really.I will always love my 07 14.I do think though that this new bird is gonna be quite a bit more strong and refined....but probably nothing koo koo ya know?I know I like what they did with the fasteners(hiding most of em)and the new styling.Fitment seemed to be one of their 'selling points' on there website.I know Rook showed a pic of the one part of the fairing butting up against the tank cover or something.Didn't look too good...but....in other pics....I noticed that same area....wasn't any gap or anything at all.I'm guessin someone pulled the cover off or something and maybe didn't get it fastened all the way back in?That's what it looked like to me anyway.S'all good. They did seem to fit everything together much better on the new one.

No so fast, blue. You know me, I look at the water half empty. I have all that negative ready so I am not disappointed. I sucked myself into this closed loop bike without an idle screw. Without a 360 walk around, I can't tell what loop the R is in? Not much is being said. Wait for the rags. They had theirs and time in with the public release. Then again, guess who runs the rags?
If your dealer didn't go, who knows where the data is coming from? They brought back nothing, are as clueless as we are. Until I walk that bike, see what I can see, that idle is scaring me.

WHEEEE, I say, I say, wee, we might not be able to add fuel. How will you bring down the rpm if the idle is preset? Who knows how touchy that control valve is and now if Brock has one on the roller, he might or might not be battling something to overcome.

RE: WHEEEEE!!!

Ya....I'm not gonna do any piping or messing with it at all.No wheels.Nothin.Just break er in(if it's not snowing in Nov.)and get to know her.Brock mentioned that he hadn't been able to get a hold of one to run any Dynos. That tells me...HOLD ON.Not so fast.Ricky has one.I'm guessing Muzzy has one...maybe.IDK.Even if they did,and had maps and all,I really don't want anything to be different(yet). So any mods will be LATER down the road.Certainly not now.And my dealer DID go to the show.Roaringtoys had a bike there.IF he knew anything about the innards of the bike....he didn't say anything about it to me.I think he knows that I get on the web here and look stuff up and whatever.Probably
figured "what's to say?" with me.He did say....he didn't get a chance to actually spend any time taking pics and such cause they spent the whole time in classes. He was pretty bummed about that.Anyway...yeah...I'm with ya on the stock config deal.
I don't know how you would adjust the idle...if you needed to.I'd think they would have SOMETHING on there to be able to manually raise or lower it for maintenance purposes, you think?Does sound 'intriguing' though, doesn't it.
Not to sound TOO simplistic..but I'd imagine the R is in the selector mode circuit somewhere. That CAN be turned off apparently. At least that one video I posted showed someone toggling that switch, and the display went through 1,2 3 and 'off'.
What I can't really get is the front wheel thing. It looks to me like it's abs ready.Got the (apparently) little sensor deal on there,a black wire and connector hooked up to something).I was wondering just how much 'weight' that (abs)wheel(not the bike's wheel) has,and the wiring circuit.Seems like if you weren't gonna get abs ever...removing that wouldn't be a bad thing?IDK.Probably make no difference in the big picture.Ah well...we'll see in a bit.I'm leaving everything alone on her. What I (and this sounds REALLY dumb probably)am very anxious to find out is...DID they reshape that seat and use Connie Foam in there.I know they reshaped it...ya...but will it be comfy enough for my bony arse!? They mention that on their site...about the newly reshaped seat WITH extra THIGH SUPPORT.Hope it's not just like...when yer punchin it and get pushed back into the seat back. That I don't need.I won't be dragracing!
They don't even have any service manuals out yet.Basically...it's the same bike ya know.Same size, all that.I don't think a half inch here or there is gonna really make her feel much different than my bike now.20 lb weight gain...ah...are ya REALLY gonna notice that IF the overall bike handles quicker and lighter?I don't think so.This engine build is gonna be real interesting to see how she does.I'll be REALLY happy if they did something about the shifting quality...you know...the N to 1st thing. And they've done something about the CCT as well.Gearing is 17/42.That's a good gearing for riding.

I believe (could obviously be wrong..) that Kawasaki is using those rings for the traction control..

Remember, remove anything off this bike, you go limp. The FI comes on and you are done. You are looking at zero weight with the hamburger and fries you just huffed down. Add the drink. WOT do you think? However, there goes your 3 mode switch = Disabled! You'll be in -- mode, which you saw in the dash, meaning, here is my code in the square. Check my tone wheel.
I don't even know how screwed up Rickey is to even work on the bike? Does he live with migraines now? Is he making comment at all on line? Stuff is tight as you know. One less fleet to loan out long term? Put that bike on the floor instead? I don't know how tight they are making things over there?
I may have to buy one to find out about it myself. Hell, I got this one needing an idle drop now. Stupid aprilia has it on this bike. That is why I am not to confident the bike it tune-able, unless it does have a relearn? ZIt relearns via the lambda or having an 02 on board. The atmospheric sensor would be eliminated. The 02 as the faster reader to learn.
I could make the abstract learn. I could 1 and 0 one chart line or zero to WOT. That is one line up the graft. Now, I reinstall the lambda. This has the constant line. Every time that line hits the old fuel line, it pings it down to it's line. It take one grid at a time crossing it. You simply hit it with an 0, it goes to 1. Said another way, you knock it down to a grid on the relearning curve. Clearing the PC map. Kind of like a mini disk defrag. It sends those blocks all back in line. Maintains that line till you mod the stupid thing again!
Danger #1 = No idle adjust. Bike idles on the relearn. Vacuum suck. It has a suck of less compression, it sends that number in. Bike can only be air set to a CO%. I am assuming now.
Danger #2 = Possible lambda'd or closed loop. Why? Open loop is the tuneable loop.

Well...I kinda get what yer sayin. But I'm thinking they most likely made it to accept a PC and possible Flash capability like the 10 ECU.IDK.You know Brock's and Muzzy and all the rest are gonna be makin pipes for this bird...and they want to be able to map it as well....so I'm guessing they probably will be able to.I don't think Kawasaki wants to end a whole aftermarket life of it's own...and lots of guys are gonna be gettin this bike to see how far it can be modded for power and such.Ya think?Kawasaki's not tryin to put anyone out of business...except...YKW.Which they've pretty much accomplished now!!
Didn't have any fries with my burgers...not today...just my monthly gift to myself of a Double 1/4 pounder with cheeze and a Deluxe Angus.
She's stayin stock as long as possible.I aint messin wit NUTHIN!

Congrats Blue, hope it serves you well! May I ask why they only gave you 4k for your bike? Why not sell it privately?

Go to Yammy's home page. Find videos on left column, click and wait. If it doesn't start, click it at .06 seconds mark and stop it there. Nice shot. Anyway, did you hear about 11 settings on the fly or whatever? Did you hear the 17 presets you can combo to?
That is where you are headed. A 3 mode switch with a -- You are at base setting? I think they are baby feeding you with the 14 Flour Tea Won.

I didn't want the hassle for one thing. He knows all kinds of people out there.Blue Book for an 07 isn't very high...I'll say that.I don't know what the REAL buying price is from Japan(for new).Honestly.I mean...how do guys buy brand new models,0 miles bikes...and sell em for parts...engines,chassis's,all that.Bodykits from em.You know those guys are not payin MSRP.They couldn't be.I think the markup for these bikes is pretty darn high.4000 for an 07 w/51,000 miles really isn't TOO bad...for a trade in.He'll probably get maybe 6000 for it...maybe.He'll ask more..you know, tag it for more. But he probably won't get any higher than six.The mods as you know really mean nothing...unless it's like blueprinted or something exotic.

ETHIN!I'm tryin to contain myself...I keep thinkin..."Gadsen's got one...Roaringtoys has one...okay...certainly they ran a string of SE's while they were buildin those ones....so...what's the holdup!".Sheesh...Gadsen had one in early 2011 .
"Pipes....check.....FLAG...check....SEAT...omg....check....Camera mount.....check......Windscreen...yup...got that...check....pigs flying.....um...ya,okay...check" Name change....geez...I don't want to deal with that.

The deal is; The dealer needs to make a profit. Thus, the grading on low book. He might make a grand or so out of the deal. They get a detail man on it, she might demand bigger bucks than thought? Mine will have perfect parts so I'm selling at a premium or the idler can sit on the floor and wait. I'm in no rush for no idle cable and zip to do about touching some air screws, or until I see how Mukuni did it?
