Picked her up yesterday - 30/6.
Rider profile, weight 110kg - height 6'. My Impression...
First day 30/6:
Clocked 110km. City and Highway.
My comparison made between Aprilia Caponord ETV1000 and KTM-SMT 990.
Presentation/style - won by SMT
Instrumentation - KTM slightly better. Unfortunately no FUEL GAUGE. Luckily it has a reserve light.
Weight - 50kg lighter than Capo
Seat - Capo's seat much more comfort and spacious for my "slim" butt!
Seating position - Capo more relax
Handling - nimble n much easier than Capo ( definitely .... lighter weight and shorter wheelbase)
Hi speed stability - Won by Capo ( coz of heavyweight)
Wind protection - Capo better
Acceleration - won by SMT by 38.57%
Top speed - Still virgin...cannot go wild yet!
Torque - SMT....perggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! . Its like the rodeo horses! I'm lovin it!
Braking - what do you expect from the latest BREMBO compared to the oldest BREMBO on Capo???
Suspension - WP on SMT and Marzocchi on Capo. Tengah trial and error. Still searching for the best setting.
Lighting - same as Capo. Scattered. Sharpness no way.... (nobody can beat ZX14 "landing" light! I miss that...)

bike looks great! best of luck and many happy miles A!
do you have the standard seat?

i am looking forward to test riding the smt myself, hopefully in a couple of weeks!

Sooo, in Malaysia, you drive on the "right", "left" or "center". It's hard to tell if you bike is "left drive" or "right drive". Wait.......it looks like it's "exact center drive". Now I am really confused.
Anyway, looking good there. Post up the Borneo trip story with pics. Can't wait to see them.

Hahahaaaaa.... Steve!!! Right hand drive. Commonwealth bro.
Our routes ... we started from Kota Kinabalu down south to Tawau. Then up north to Mount Kinabalu. Heading west to Brunei and Sarawak. We end up in Kuching.
Bikes transported by air from Kuala Lumpur. Clocked 3000km from 15 - 21 July 2009.
Sabah such a nice place to ride. Hilly and corners. Sarawak not so much fun. Just straight and flat land. So bored.

Jafo!
Bike suit me perfectly! Im lovin' it.
And as usual.... seat modified, exhaust modified - removed the catalytic converter, fixed the PC3! Hoyeahhhhhh...
Clocked 113hp on rear wheel. Torque at all level! Exhaust sound louder ,more compact and less heat. Pommm...pommm...pommm ... 200kmh easily!
All in all...cost me USD 800!
