Quick headlight question
08/29/13 10:11 PM

I looked everywhere and in the manuals & can't get a clear answer. Does the 2012-2013 also use H9 & H11 headlights and T10 parkers?
I want to try the 65W H9 conversion with PIAAs and see if it's any good.
Has anyone else done this and is happy with it?

Gotta say here...MY piaa's low beams failed at like...well...IDK the 'on' time actually, but they BOTH went out at the same time...and they haven't been in there very long...no way will I buy Piaa's again.Put the stockers back in...she shines like a gem again!;)

I use PIAA h9's in lo and high beams, no problem with failure.....would have used sylvania zxe's, but they don't offer an h9 zxe.

Yes, that is strange, I've used quite a few diff bulbs, bulb for bulb, I think the piaa's are brighter....If you want more light output on your low beams, mod the h9 bulb socket for the h11 connector.....no problem with heat or load, I guarantee you will like the brighter low beams........

Regards, John

Thanks for the info and opinions guys. I'll be heading with the H9 conversion using Philips Blue Vision globes. From various searches and opinions, the Philips seem to be a fairly safe bet for longevity, color and light output. These are available in Australia too which cuts down shipping cost. I've tried others in the past, with varying results from good to rubbish. Others I've liked in the past don't come in H9s though.
I think globes are like the age old oil threads. Everyone has had different experiences except a few common choices.
I'll keep y'all updated.
Cheers.
