Decision time need advice

Hello all, here goes, well I finally have the funds to purchase a new exhaust system for my bike. I'm torn between the muzzy m10 full system or the M4 slip-ons. One will be less labor intensive than the other of course. What would be the major benefit in going for a full system versus slip-ons with the consideration given to these systems alone. I'm also going to have my bike Cblasted soon after. Thanks in advance. Fiction14

I'm not sure an average street rider could gain any great advantage by going with a full system, but I've seen alot of guys sell off there slip ons to buy a full exhaust. So with that in mind it may save you time and money to get the full exhaust from the start. Call cblast if you're going to have him tune it and pick his brain a little. I think he went through this on his own bike.

Do you need more power? NO. But face it, you want it anyway.

Never had slipons but I noticed a huge difference in weight which translated into improved handling on the street by going to a full system. You'll drop most of the weight by losing the stock cans but I always suggest going all the way to a full system. It is a lot more work but if you get into the wrenching aspect of owning a sportbike, you'll see it is really not so overwhelming. Lots of people on here can lead you through every step.

M4s are really nice slipons. Very light, loud and look great but you'll probably wish you went all the way to a full system once you feel how it affects the handling of the bike.

You should have the bike properly mapped if you go to a full system which will be another expense.

A full system should as about 15-18 hp on top acording to what I researched years back. Some people fear the low end will be weaker with a full system. Hard to say. I didn't notice that with mine except maybe at very low rpm like slowly releasing the clutch under tiny throttle opening. If there was any change in low end grunt it was so tiny, that it was hard to tell for sure. The bike will rev quicker in N. You'll notice that immediately. If you're on the gas and rolling, you'll also feel the bike rev harder and accelerate quicker--more hp. You probably won't notice that so much with slipons.

Get in touch with Cblast to confirm this. I think I heard him make a comment that the stock header on the 14r might flow just be as good or better than aftermarket headers in which case, slipons might be a viable option.

A lot less money for slip ons. Obviously


And given that the cat converter is in the muffler, slip ons eliminate that.

You would get a bit more out if a full system but not enough to warrant the extra $$$

When I was getting ready to purchase my slip-ons, everyone basically offered the same advice sir, and good advice it is! If all you want is a little more rumble and deeper authoritative note, slip-ons are great. The stock header is really very good with any slip-ons! And I love the balanced look of duals.
However. Eventually the path led me to needing more performance.
The M10 is a more serious overall performance upgrade. It is very light, very well crafted, and the headers are a beautiful stepped design, they come off of the head about the same size as stock and they continually step up in diameter. The fattest part of the headers look massive on the bike. It sounds amazing, like stunning. Under full throttle words are not enough. And the feel and performance is excellent. Top quality. With the full system you get all the benefits Rook and others mentioned, just generally feels more powerful everywhere with a full system. I do have to wear earplugs on long rides. But I did anyway, so no problem there. Whichever you choose, you are gonna be happy! This bike sounds sooo good once she gets to breathe!

Major overall performance increase (handling etc.)

Hope that helps a little. Some of the most fun I have had is finding the overall setup that suits me best. The personalization and the following feel and character changes with the machine. Makin me want to start all over again!

C, forgot to ask last time, how does the M10 effect the low end/mid range compared to slip ons ?

I really like the M10, and would have gotten it,if available at the time I bought my bike ..

I have the M4 Retro Drag slips on mine. I love em. They sound excellent. Loud. Loud.. yes in deed if you remove the quiet cores. Plus I like the satin black finish. Looks awesome. However, recently I have been debating on going with a full m10 system (in black of course). I don't need it. And I really like the dual exhaust look personally. So that's my dilemma. I guess you could do a custom full exhaust as CBLAST did. Slips with the Akra header. I still might do that as well. Still can't decide!

Hey guys!
Cara, the feel in the low end with the M10 after the dual system was a little softer. As soon as the flash was adjusted for the flow however, that crispness down low returned. The feel is as good as dual from 3000 rpm up to 8000, then the full 4-1 just pulls harder. The torque curve is a little fatter almost everywhere and there is more hp up top with the full 4-1. We are not talking big differences, but enough that seat of the pants is backed up by dyno results.

Yeah, exactly, the more centralized mass and the lighter weight is immediately noticeable in transitions at speed.

Anecdotal Evidence:

I've ridden pretty hard with Cblast, with basically the same engine mods. Hard pulls from around 25mph to 180 or so, side by side. Both Cblasted, both with full systems. Sebastian has the M10, I've got the Brocks Single CT Meg.

Both systems make amazing power, sound fantastic, and provide excellent lean angle clearance. Other than a hp here or there, the power bands are the same. If you can swing it financially, the full system is worth the price to get the performance upgrade. Either system is fantastic, so it really comes down to style preference.

I of course prefer the Brocks, but The M10 is pretty damned nice and very well made!

I had Muzzy slip-ons on my 2012 14R. They sound really great, a low rumbling sound. A couple weeks ago I put a full Brocks Alien Head 2 on my bike and had the ECU reflashed by Cblast (it had been reflashed by Guhl Last year). I cannot believe the power this bike has now. The torque is unreal! Today I was driving on a ramp to get onto the interstate. I slowly rolled the throttle on in 1st gear and the tire starting spinning. I let off, shifted to second, slowly rolled the throttle on and the tire broke loose again. I've gotta learn how to ride this bike again. With a full exhaust and the Cblast flash, this bike shows its full potential, the way Kawasaki designed it. Seb did such an incredible job on the ECU. Smooth, powerful, mind boggling performance.
On a side note, anyone looking for a set of Muzzy slip-ons?
