DJ instructions say NOT to install in a position where the unit can be affected by heat. Some go with under the foreman and that gets hot but the radiator?? That's probably asking for problems. Also, check the ground on the PC. That is often a problem if grounded at the coolant reservoir. DJ recommends that screw but not the only place you can ground. There is a thread on here that includes a tutorial on how to safely improve contact at the reservoir ground. You shouldn't really tighten that screw up too much or the reservoir may crack eventually.

If it is acting funny as soon as you start it up, I don't think it is a heat problem because there would not be enough heat under there until the engine got hot. Probably not until the fan kicked on. I'd check the ground first but probably be a good idea to relocate the PC too.

"I will try and move the PC" and not listen to turtle about removing the unit off of bulletproof. I also will not listen to turtle about looking at how my dirty air cleaner might cause a driveability problem. So now I am on my own chasing a heated box? If I run like shit cold, what temp is my box in the morning and I can rest my hand on any heated part like the radi or engine, I just started the engine and it runs like shit with the cold pc [alleged].

I'd suggest switching the ground to the left side subframe or some other location. You could also switch the water bottle screw to a stud, tighten a low profile nut and serrated washer over the ground wire eye, install the water bottle and fasten it with a loktited nut. That's pretty much how someone else solved the grounding problem which is not uncommon with the water bottle location. The plastic is not hard enough to create good contact indefinitely.

Good call, Rook. Bottom line, bulletproof was up against tampering with the loop.
Good find, JAS. If it's possible, run the eyelet down to the stator/rotor's hump on that side cover. Pick that 8mm head bolt right under the rez and near that cast hump where the stator wires come out.
