Lowering link question
03/12/12 6:30 PM

I plan on using my 14R for touring.

So if you were to lower the bike 1 inch with a lowering link, how would this effect the linkage ratio at the rear end,

1)Would it hurt the ride quality and if so by how much?

2)Is there even enough room to drop the front an equal amount to compensate?

I'm with Auron here...once I could peel my eyes away from his avatar.

I installed Convertibars on my '12 and I chose to lower the front about ½" to make the clamps flush to the forks. I can't even notice it on the road, and I knew that I lowered it so I was literally looking for any change. I really cannot tell in street riding. Track would be another story... Now I'm curious if there's a way I can match it in the rear. VERY subtle but roughly ½" - 1" total lower in the rear would be nice and not upset my handling much. I don't think we would bottom out the bike?
