If you can't fit a damper above the top crown, there is always a way to mount it below. You would just need to figure it out. This here is for a thumb brake but you could remove the lever and bolt on the heim joint of an oil tube damper. Mount the tube to the frame.
It's standard procedure to rig up something like this for a bike that does not have a factory made bracket to fit it. There was a member on here earlier this winter who was planning to mount a damper below the top crown like the Hayabus's stock damper.
If you go with bar risers, I don't see why you couldn't mount a HyperPro with ZX-14 bracket as long as you cut some extended side plates from some 1/8" steel and put a spacer below the center mounting point.
