Keep th edough, plough it into the site, please keep the # of ads low. too many and it defeats the purpose (ie lowers the quality of the site.

Keep logged in could be useful, but I also like the show new message feature, which I assume relies on loggin gout occasionally.

Cash for posts = high volume/low quality posts. The sits is what it is because there are already sufficient motivations to contribute. Tshirts are a good idea. not sure what the "earning" model would be without having the same negative effects (encouraging lots of crappy posts.) Mind you I think Hub should get stuff every 100 posts, such is the information and entertainment value of his posts...

Personally, I've no problem with you making a buck out of this site given you efforts and investment. I just hope a profit motive doesn't overtake the community motive, if you know what I mean.

after reading your original post commish, i thought post counts were going to start soaring but these guys seem pretty genuine after all i hope you make a fortune off this bg! you've earned it!

The "keep me logged in" function that you guys have asked for has been implemented. Check the "Remember me" checkbox on the login page when you log in. It puts a cookie on your computer which is used after your session variable times out (like the next day or after several hours of inactivity) to log you in again automatically. You don't see this, though, as it happens behind the scenes.

I'm not sure how this is going to affect the "show new messages" feature, as that feature relies using your last login or logout date/time to determine which messages are new to you.

I'm going to continue to log in and log out myself, so you'll need to let me know how all this works (or doesn't work) together. -bg

I turned off the ads. It was only generating a buck or so per day. Not worth messing up the site for that.

I wasn't thinking that the contributing members would need to click on any ads just for the sake of generating some income. We have 500-600 unique visitors per day at this point, so I was thinking that some of the visitors might click on some of them.

No problem at all. We're OK, money-wise. I DO appreciate the sentiment expressed in this thread, though -- a LOT. That makes it all worthwhile. -bg
